Just purchased a very nice used 310 and it has old gas in it. I changed the oil/gas using proper mixture and it still won't crank. I feel stupid evening mentioning this, but I can't find the spark plug to clean. Anyone know what to remove to make it show up?
Same as my 320. Under the clutch cover, aft of the muffler. HTH

Did you get an Operator's Manual with yours? I'm looking for one.
Try this it checks the kill switch and wiring too.

You may need to use a jumper wire between the threaded part of the plug and the cooling fins. You don’t have to bend up the electrode.
Yep I was fishin'
I don't want to my address out there for the world to see, recommend the same to you. Actually we get in trouble for posting an email address.

members list, "Lou" and send a pm with your name I would be most appreciative.
Include the "6000???" number from the model tag in the PM and I'll hook you up with an IPL and a pretty good source of Mac parts.
May God bless you, you rated everyone and said a few kind words to each. Thank you. Wish you Good Health and Happiness. Lou
The stuff in my fuel tank looked like gear oil. I dumped it out added some 50:1 Stihl mix. Turned both needle valves 1.5 CCW from lightly seated. Poured a little directly into carburetor throat and she started. It wouldn't run at speed until I jazzed the throttle a few times. Just a few minutes ago I chocked it pulled about 3 times it burped. Opened choke and it started. I need to play with it some it is running way to fast but she runs and accelerates. I need to work on the oiler after I get the speed down. Good luck with yours.

The spark plug is next to the muffler.if any cover needs to be removed,it's the muffler/chain bar side.

You may have to remove a cover to find the plug. Truth be told I dont know where it is either ... but I am willing to bet that you, like me, know there IS a plug in there somewhere and you are willing to jump in the pool (so to say, if necessary) to find it.
You may want to get some throttle body cleaner (AKA carb spray) and spray some into the carb to help clear away gunk left from the stale gas. Spray and pull the rope sucking the stuff into the engine.
Good luck ... when you find it ... tell me where it is.
(Oh yea ... while at the auto parts place --- get a new plug - forget that old plug.)
