Why does a new never used facebook acc.,also a somewhat new user to a laptop dell windows xp year model made 06 and I no longer owners handbook on use ,never did. so I'am trying to get first time to...

This is actually fairly easy.
The only thing stopping you is an e-mail account, right?
Go to
Then click on where it says gmail up on the top of the page.
Next, set up a new account with gmail, giving you a new e-mail address.

Then go to Facebook, and setup a new user account, if you have to, use your middle name as a way of getting a new account, and use the new gmail account as your primary email account for facebook.

This will provide you with a new facebook account.
Then after you are on facebook, go to your account, and edit anything you want to change, like your name.

Then you should be good to go.

I hope this helps you out, and good luck to you.

If you are trying to connect to her internet connection, you use her router.
You cant connect 2 routers to one modem, unless you set one up as a repeater.
Just ask her for the wifi password, and connect through her router

Can't Connect my Belkin router FSD7230-4 to the internet. I can connect to my new ADSL service when my computer is directly connected to the modem. When I'm going through the router it's not...

There are several reasons that this could be happening. Sometimes the DSL modem can be the cause. If it is configured incorrectly then it will not be setup to work in a routed bridge mode (what you need for it to work with the router). Easy fix for this: press the "reset" button in the back or bottom to set the modem to default settings then power cycle everything. Second, on your computer go to network and sharing center and find your adapter settings. right click on your Ethernet or wireless adapter (whichever you use to connect) and go to properties. Go to the TCP/IP protocal properties and check that everything is set to obtain its data automatically. Last thing to double check: Call your ISP and just verify the ip, login info, and DNS info are all correct. I have had an ISP give me the wrong DNS info before on accident and after several hours of troublshooting I called back and a different guy answered and told me that my DNS was wrong. I changed one number and POOF! Fixed! You can find more help for this at or email us at

Unable to connect to internet via router.Computer says signal strength is excellent.diagnostic check highlighted DNS problem.I think VIRGIN (my isp) have recently changed their DNS nos. Virgin (my isp)...

If you're using an ADSL connection the details you need are below.

Settings for an ADSL connection through a telephone line.

Open a web browser and log onto your router.

Find Internet Wan > Connection Type.

Set the Router to use PPPoA, type in your User Name and Password in the spaces provided. If you do not have a Service Name or do not know it, leave the Service Name field blank. After you have typed in your information, click "Apply Changes". After you apply the changes, the Internet Status indicator will read "Connected" if your Router is set up properly.

WAN > Connection Type PPPoA
User Name > (or or whatever)
Password > *******
Retype Password > *******
VPI/VCI > 0 / 38
Encapsulation > VC MUX
MTU > Leave as Default

Find Internet Wan > DNS.
Select Automatic from ISP
(Virginmedia DNS servers are Primary: Secondary:

Find Lan Setup > Lan Settings
Ensure DHCP Server is set to On

If the details entered are correct the router will show connected and the internet lamp will be green.

Do the configuration on a wired connection.

I bought this router used from ebay, yet when i run teh setup once i get to where it connects from the modem to the router to the computer it says no computer connections found, but the lights blink on and...

First Check your wiring, The Cable modem should be connected to the WAN port, next hook up easch computer to ports 1 thru 4 using a Cat 5 or better Cable. Turn off all computers. now Find the Reset Button on your router, using a ballpoint pen , push and hold the button for 10 seconds. this will set the router back to factory Defaults. *( it is very common that when a router is sold on ebay that it is setup to the previous users settings, which may be causing the problem) Watch the lights on the front of your router they should flash solid at once then you will see each row (depending on how many computers are connected) light up, once the expect lights per computer are showing start up your primary computer first, then each of the remaining ones. you will notice that the router will show activity on each port when the computers are at the desktop. You should be good to go.. If you have special settings you want to apply , you open internet explorer or the browser of your choice. type in in the address bar, this will take you to the setup page.. let me know if you need any further help..

I inadvertently gave wireless access to someone who is using my connection to make phone calls from my account. How can I stop this?

assign a dynamic IP address that that person doesn't know and this should stop your problem. You will also have to assign that IP address on your computers as a gateway IP address.

Connecting 2 computer thru DI-514

Well I believe wat ya need to do is simply obtain a NEW "Account" with NEW Logon & Password with a NEW Internet Service Provider. Then you set up the modem to connect to the new ISP, at the NEW ISP's address, with the NEW Password & Logon. When you got the modem ya should have got a "Setup" CD that should walk ya thru the connection routine... Below is a link for a "Users Manual" that should help you get connected.
