Question about Sony Handycam HDR-UX5 DVD Camcorder

1 Answer

PC says disk is empty, but it's not

I connected my Handycam to my MacBook Pro to try and download the video I captured onto a Memorex Mini DVD-R disc. Instead of getting the pop-up window to start downloading onto the iMovie program, I get an error window that says I'm using a blank DVD. But it's not blank! I can see all the video from our family vacation on the camera but, the Mac is saying there's nothing on it. HELP! What am I doing wrong? I've tried messing with the output functions and everything else I can think of. Not sure if it has something to do with the fact that we captured the film on the HD setting??? I'm going crazy, if you have any input please help! :0D

How to connect a macbook pro and a handycam DCR-DVD105.

If your cam has a firewire connection, you could plug it into the macbook and use iMovie to transfer the videos over. You can also get an external DVD drive to put those tiny DVDs into to transfer it over.

Sony dcr-dvd105 Handycam . I want to copy several 30 min. discs onto one or two large discs. Sony has not been very helpful in supporting their product. Hope you can help.

Import your videos from the "finalised" mini disks into Windows Movie Maker on your PC and then export all the content to a DVD on your PC.
Alternatively a disk copy facility such as "Nero" can be used.

Disc will not play... camcorder wants to format the disc and says it is empty.

There is a software program that always saves me when I get careless and fill the disk to full. It''s called CD Roller. It''s called CD Roller.
