I have a Sony DVD player and an Akai projection tv. It used to work fine but ever since we had a power outage, when I play a dvd, I get no colour. TV has colour when on "TV" but not with DVD.

    I have the same problem

  • Anonymous Sep 12, 2008

I get excellent audio and picture...just in black and white!

No idea why this is happening.

Audio and Picture is perfect, But, the color is gone. Color was there before. How do I get the color back? I put the wires back where they belong. White to white, yellow to yellow, red to red.

Go to the settings menu in the dvd player. You will need to change the output settings to
match the output you are using. Whether it is s-video, component, or hdmi . This will fix the color issue.

Could be an NTSC/PAL button you need to press. Some DVD players have this either on the remote control or the player itself to match with the TV region code or DVD itself.

How do I hook up a dvd player to vs 4544?

Its a old set but hookup should from a DVD player be to the rear audio and video inputs---note color of jacks on player--you will need for that old set composite--yellow(video and color), red and white for sound.

If the player does not have them (composite) you have a real problem.

Once connected use the input button on the front of the set to change to that input that you hooked the player up to (video 1 or 2 etc.)

What color wires do i need to hook up the vcr player? The dvd player works with red/blue/green

Colors dont matter as long as you hook video on VCR to video on TV witch is usually yellow and left and right audio to L&R audio on TV witch is usually red and white.

I have an apex ad-5131 dvd player i want to hoook up speakers to to but how? i dont understand the coaxil i matched all of them by color to color but it still doesn't work

The outputs on the dvd are line level and will need to be hooked up to an external amplifier or stereo receiver in order to make speaker work...all you do is hook the audio output right (red) and left(white) to the amplifier and then hook the speakers to the speaker outputs on the amplifier

How do I plug in more then one units i.e Wii, DVD player, ect.? I have read the manual and hooked them up that way but dont have any color when I hook up to component input 1 or 2. What am i doing wrong...

You cannot get color when connecting a composite cable to a component input. Unfortunately you will have to connect the Wii to the composite input when you want to use the Wii and then disconnect it and connect the DVD player to the composite input when you want to use it and etc.

Screen is green when trying to play a DVD

Hi,
I think DVD player is hooked with TV via component video input.

Check component video connections and make sure each color wire connect in same correspondence color in both units, TV and DVD Player.

Red to red, green to green and blue to blue.

DVD Player will not play in color?

I dont think so  the DVD palyer is playing the videos that means the Player is connected properly
i would suggest you to check the color settings either of the DVD player (you might find how to do this in the manual,  would be easy) else check  wheather the color setting on your tv  are not set to SCEAM on the video mode.
hope this helps otherwose  please do post back and pls dont forget to rate the solution

Hooking it up

Easy, just match up color codes from tv to dvd player. If you only have red, yellow and white, they should coincide wih the TV as some TV's dont have the 5 color jacks R/W/G/B/Y inputs. If they do, use the colorstream or "comp" input on the TV
