If a TV is on sale and the advertisement says "broken" - - - the TV will probably stay that way - those sales are for repair centers who can take two or more televisions and make one "like-new" unit - it depends on the symptoms and what make (and model) are for sale - call the customer service department for each brand that you might buy and they will advise you [dxh]

hello, yes it can be replaced but you need to be patient and search for the same model tv at auction sites, if your trying to replace a screen buying it may be very expensive at a parts site, but finding a "as is tv" being sold at auction becuase it dosent work is the best way to find a good screen either switch it out from the set you buy or switch your good parts to the set that has the good screen this is the cheapest way to fix a broken screen. other wise a new replacement cost about the same or more than a new tv.. hope this helps
hello, you can if you take your time searching for the same model, the best way is to find a same model tv at an auction site. a tv that is "sold as is" and not working as long as the screen is good and not cracked you can switch it out and or switch your internal boards to the tv you get at auction,i have done this a few times. the last tv i repaired was a phillips 32 inch lcd with a tv i got "as is not working" at auction site for very cheap everything works fine, if you try to buy a replacment screen at a parts store forget it they cost to to much, sometimes more than what you paid for the tv in the first place. hope this helps..
hi, if your screen is cracked you will need a replacement screen this type of repair that if you call a service center they wont do becuase basically the screen is the most expensive part it may be more than the cost of the tv when new, theres only one way to do this and not spend a fortune and thats by buying a used tv same model that is not working or for repair, of course it needs to have a good screen, where at auction sites and surplus sites. you can replace the screen if you buy a used non functional at auction and exchange it or repair the other tv with your parts either that or get a new set, it is expensive to fix any other way. hope this helps, happy holidays.
The only way to fix it is to replace the whole LCD screen if is a LCD TV or the whole PLASMA PDP module (panel) if it is a PLASMA. Either way, it is going to be a very expensive repair that most often exceeds the value of the TV itself.
The display screen is the most expensive part to replace in your plasma tv. In most cases its cheaper to buy the same model. Instead of buying the part and paying a repair man to fix it....Broken screen = junked plasma
hello, it can be repaired but it is costly. if you have waranty use it
if you use a repair service the screen is as expensive as a new tv or more
you can find a replacement screen online if you search auction sites and surplus used electronics auctions or sales.
then the repair would cost way less.
it takes time becuase you need to find the exact model if you want to fix your set..
hope this helps and good luck
they are not sold to like this to the general public some new replacement screens need authorization and can only be aquired by service centers. if you want a screen that is for your specific model tv you will need to find a online site that has electronic surplus or for repair tv, like an aution site or a electronic parts store. if you are lucky to find your model tv at auction or being sold "as is for repair" with a good screen you grab it other wise a brand new 42" plasma replacement screen cost upwards in the 1500.$ range.and it isnt sold to the public.
It is to expense to replace, I have talked to Daewoo parts and it cost about 2000 dollars for the panel. Better off finding another broken tv, that does not have a broken display panel and fixing yourself.
Unfortunatly you are better off replacing it with a new TV.
You can have them repaired using a TV Repair guy but often it costs as much as a brand new tv. My daughter broke my $1,600 LCD. It would have cost $1,200 to fix.. so I just bought a new one. After that I picked up a TV screen protector called TV Armor http://www.tv-armor.com Its designed to protect the TV from damage. Now I dont have to worry anymore when she is playing near it. It works really well.
