Question about Kenmore 73053 Gas Kitchen Range
How do you switch from natural gas to propane on the oven
Just bought a Kenmore and did this conversion myself. You do not change the oven nozzle (jets) but have to wrench it down with a 1/2" wrench as per instructions. After I did this the falme was high as you described. I wrenched it down further and adjusted the air shuttle and it was fine. The brioler is done the same. The wrench adjustment is tight so be aware.

some ranges are adjusted on the unit, others you need to go to an appliance parts store and get them to order you a convervsion kit from ng to lp. the model you have given is incomplete i would need the rest to check this further for you. there should be a prefix ahead of the 468130 i.e. 110 - 468130??

Propane and natural gas are two different fuels and require adjustments to the appliances to which theye are connected. Typically, when converting to propane from natural gas, a pressure regulator and a change in gas jets are required. This is because propane has a different heating value (hotter) and behaves differently.
Also, propane doesn't burn as cleanly as natural gas so after you have made the hardware changes, if you start to smell something in the kitchen, you may need to crack a window slightly to provide for better venting.
Please be careful
