Aggravating problem that i cant seem to fix

For some reason, i have one artist listed in my ipod that is displayed about 9 times, and i dont know what to do so that the artist is only shown one time.  the same songs are under each of the 9 tags, so i cant figure out why it says "chevelle"   9 times.    How do i fix it?

Maybe you added the song 9 times, try deleting 8 and see if it's still on there.

30gb ipod freeze up cant shutdown to reboot

Slide the Hold button on the top of the iPod so no red mark is visible. Press the main menu button until you see a long list of options (Artists Albums Songs Extras......) use the scroll wheel to find the sleep press and hold the center button in or Locate the Play/Pause button on the iPod. The Play/Pause button is at the bottom of the wheel around the select button. Press and hold the Play/Pause button until the unit powers off, about three to five seconds. Press any button on the iPod to turn the power on.

Does an ipod 5th gen (80G) have a limit to the number of artists it can store at any one time, as mine seems to be dropping some off the list!

There is no limit to the artists or anything on it. The only limit is the size of iPod. Are you at full capacity on it? It is probaly a sorting issue, does the amount of songs change. Also are the songs still in itunes? If they have disappeared then you have some broken links( songs have moved from there orginal spot) Try using the consolidating libary and see if that helps.

I want to remove a artist from my playlist

if you dont like the artist or music albums name to be appearing in the display(which is sometime annoying)the trick is here.drag and drop your songs and mp3 lists into the player just like basic copy and paste in windows.the name of the album and artists appear in the display only if you synchronize your player with the computer using players(like real,Wmv etc).
so go for the basic copy and paste instead of synchronizing option.please let me know your feedback.

When I press

it's because the iriver doesn't reconize the artist. the artist name, album etc is set in the file's info. you can write that info yourself so the iriver can reconize it. for example I opened Winamp, imported the songs I wanted in my iriver, right clicked on the the first songin my list, selected FILE INFO and went on and completed the artist field myself. did the same to every other song....and now the iriver reconizez the takes some time indeed...and I don't know of any other easyer method that works.....but this one surely will. good luck :)

Artist doesn't show up in "Artist"

You need to check the information on your computer.

Right click on the songs that are not showing up under artist and look at the info for them. If they don't have an artist listed, they will not show up on your ipod in the artist tab. You can add the artist name and then sync your ipod and it will update your music information for you.

IPOD mystery

They will only show if the infomation is there. If your on a Mac, highlight the song holding down the  ctrl key at the same time and choose get info. I guess that you will need to put the artists name in.
