My son bought me a software package called "web radio recorder" from magix and when i tried to install it vista rejected it siting "compatibility issues" when i tried to look online for any upgrades, there were none.
IF there is a compatibility issue Then why not use the compatibility wizard.
Click on your start button /ALL programs & then upto the accessories menu & then click on the Program Compatibility Wizard.
It is a well missed program But sometimes you never know.
You could also do a google search to see if there is other people with the same problem
Or you could search for a fix
Vista Compatibility error fix.

Have you try to use the software in compatibility mode for windows vista or xp ??
Simply highlight the icon on the desktop, right click and choose properties, then select the last tab (compatibility), here you choose to run it in windows xp compatibility. This should prevent some things on old software
Hope that helps IF NOT then try to return here Have a nice time over there
you've hit the nail on the head mate. It's your driver settings, you just need to change them. but first i need you to check something, coz when you install MAGIX it also installs it's own AOSIO drivers & VST-DX Adapter Light. but because you've up graded/dated windows these mite have changed, moved or even gone. so open magix music editor 2.0 from the program files / magix then open a new project, click on the red OPT record button then choose your settings. what are your options in the RECORD DEVICE AND FILE PATH drop down? let me known @ email@example.com
Can you hear any other sounds on your computer? If so, make sure your
recording properties are set to the device name that is producing the
sounds you want to record.
On my computer, this is called "stereo mix".
To get to the recording control:
1) Double-click on the speaker icon
next to the time on the very right of your task bar. 2) Click on
properties 3) Then, click on the options menu item. 4) Next, click on
the radio button next to record. 5) Select all the check-boxes 6) Click
At this point, if you aren't sure which device produces the sound
that needs to be recorded, you can select one at a time until it works.
There shouldn't be any more than 5 or 6 devices to choose from.
Olympus has provided new software for VN recorders to used with VISTA plus a few updates.
Uninstall the Digital Wave Player
Uninstall the recorder in device manager
Download and install the New digital wave player,
then go to Olympus america and download all VISTA related updates. Once you have installed and updated the Digital Wave Player software, plug in the recorder and Windows will use the Olympus Driver (not digitally signed) to install and the Digital Wave player software will open automatically.
