Yes, you need to replace the upper felt and glide kit. when it gets worn down you hear a metal on metal sound. not too expensive. hope this helps.

Bravos mct Dryer Loud Screeching sound upon startup ModelMEDB850WQ0

A loud screeching sound from your dryer could be caused by a few different issues. Here are a few things you can check:
  1. Belt: A worn or broken belt can cause a loud screeching sound. To check this, unplug the dryer and remove the front panel. Look for any signs of wear or damage to the belt. If it looks worn or broken, you'll need to replace it.
  2. Drum Rollers: Dryer drum rollers can also cause a loud screeching noise. You can check this by turning the drum by hand. If it feels rough or wobbles, the rollers may be worn and need to be replaced.
  3. Idler Pulley: A faulty idler pulley can cause a screeching noise. You can check this by removing the belt and spinning the pulley by hand. If it feels rough or wobbles, it may need to be replaced.
  4. Motor: A motor that is failing can also cause a loud screeching noise. You can check this by turning the drum by hand and listening for any unusual sounds coming from the motor.
If you're not comfortable checking these components yourself, it's best to call a professional to diagnose and repair the issue.

Cluth is making a loud screeching noise when changing gear and when starting the car up.

Is it squeeling or a sound like metal to metal as if it squeels, then perhaps your alternator is getting bad or your serp belt, if its the other than perhaps your clutch maybe going start with the clutch flywheel hope that helps

I have a stacked Frigidaire FEZ831CA washer/dryer combo and when running the dryer it makes a very high pitched (AND LOUD) screeching sound. Any ideas as to what might be the problem? Thanks, Sean

screeching sound
Sean, Bad felt gasket body to drum, if belt drive on dryer, it could be worn and slipping, making a screech, or if not the belt, the drum may have a worn bearing on its hub allowing it to run crooked and rub where it should not.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Compressor makes a loud squeeky noise

Could just be a worn belt or faulty or loose tensioner. Does it only make noise when AC compressor kicks in? If it's not a metallic sound, and sound more like a screech/squeel, then I'd look close at belt condition, and tension.

11087088601 dyer squeels at start; will stop after a bit

The belt is loose and is most likely due to the belt being stretched out. Replace the belt and the tensioner also to solve this squeal.

Dryer making a high pitch squeeling sound when

The idler bearing that keeps tension on the belt is going out due to heat leaching the grease out of it. Have it replaced.

Dryer screeching and grinding when running

Hi !
The drive belt has become old and hard.
Just change the drive belt and all will be well.

Please don't try to lubricate the belt as may be suggested by many as cheap quick fix.

Regards
Berry.

Screeching noise until dryer heats up. After the dryer has run for about 5 minutes, the screeching stops.

Sounds like you have a dryer drum belt that's getting bad. Once the belt gets warm enough, it becomes more soft and pliable, lessening the noise. Needs to be replaced. Hope this helped!
