Mitsubishi DLP 62" WD-62725- Clear Picture w/ Purple Screen

My television has a clear picture with normal sound, but the picture is purple. If I go to the menu and "auto" adjust the color or "reset" the color options then nothing happens, i.e., the picture still has a purple overtone. If I go to PerfectColor and turn down the purple to a zero then the color is almost normal.

My Mitsubishi DLP 62" has a normal picture at first, but after a few hours it turns purple. Human faces look shadowy. Any ideas? I saw the blog suggesting a color was "missing". Does anyone know how to check that?

Try first a DVD etc connected to a rear audio and video input, that may rule some things in or out.

Set does have a soft reset but it is unlikely to help for this issue

Rolling horizontal lines on 62" Mitsubishi

That problem is caused by failed Capacitors on the signal and FMT power boards. which is a very common problem for mitsubishi TVs. There are repair kits available for the V26 dlp which contain the capacitors and instructions on how to do the repair. Heres a link check under the repair kits category.
