Machine displays code LL and will not complete the spin cycle when there is something in the basket. Will complete if empty. Thinking the issue is the tub displacement sensor. Did the check and the display does not change when I push the tub around. Does freely spin my one finger counter-clockwise.
Looking for verification that the tub displacement sensor is the issue before I order the part.
Replaced clutch and pressure switch in this machine in May 2009.

- Yes, that is the test I tried and it failed. You may remember me, you helped me with a problem back in May. That's when we replaced the other parts. I already ordered the part earlier today - what's another $60 into this machine? It's only over $200 in parts in a few short months. Argh! Thanks for the offer, though.
The machine spins when empty or with a very little amount of clothes - 3 light t-shirts max. Other than that it stops with 11 mins to go. I had a heavy load in there when the problem started (a terry cloth robe and a couple of bath towels).
Will try the quick spin test for fun.

- The problem was the tub displacement sensor. We replaced it and the first load just completed. I didn't try any of your other test suggestions. Saw the part in the UPS box and decided to throw it in there and then fool with it later if need be. Again, many thanks for your help. I surely hope I won't need any more help with the machine, though!
Hey HopelessR, The LL error code For the FAV6800AW is one of those errors that I feel is not documented very well. The only explanations I see is Large Load detected,“” The washer cannot spin because the load is to large””OK what the heck is the trigger input to the Control Board to issue this error code to the Console Display???? I believe it’s Motor RPM not reached.I would try the Quick Spin Test on page 14 of the Service Manual and see if your machine will spin up to 850 RPM with an empty wash basket.Do you run up to 850 RPM “85.”? I then reran the test with two large bath towels that were soaked, had to lay them in the wash basket to balance as best I could.I wanted to rerun the test with some load. The wash basket spun up thru all ranges to 850 RPM and completed with 3 beeps.Just wondering what RPM range you can complete too.
I have to additional commenst, this board has message limits for guys like me.

- Regarding the TDS concern.I hope ya won’t yell at me but is this is the test you did?I would release and raise the washer top to do this.I can get the TDS to trip with the process below with open Lid access but found it easier to push and pull down the tub to trip the unbalance points with the washer top raised. Tub Displacement Sensor Diagnostics check. It is possible the Tub Displacement Sensor may have failed try this check which is in the Troubleshooting guide stored in your washer console or refer to the SM.
a. Enter the Service Mode by pressing and holding the Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys for three seconds or the display reads “00”
b. Press the Super Wash key display reads “in”…something like that.
c. Press Delicates the Display will show “UC” (Unbalance Closed).
d. Push tub down and to the back right corner of the machine the display should change to “UO” (Unbalance open). Release tub and the display will show “UC” (Unbalance Closed).
e. Press Hand Wash.
f. Pull tub to the front left corner while pushing the tub down the display should change to “UO” (Unbalance open). Release the tub and the display will show “UC” (Unbalance Closed). If you don’t see these transitions I would to check if the TDS has not become detached from the tub and machine washer base. I don’t see how the TDS would be associated to the LL error code but I could be wrong.I feel if you had a TDS issue you would fail with UC or dc error not an LL error. Is the tub making large unbalance swings with the LL error code? If you still feel this is an issue with the TDS I have two spares from Ebay purchases. I’m going to check them out by installing them into the machine and see if they pass the above test.If they do you are welcome to try.I can’t see spending $60 for it.It may take me a day or so to do the check on them.Let me know how your troubleshooting is going.I feel if you had a TDS issue you would fail with UC or dc error not a LL error. I would also Display Diagnostics Codes and review the error code blocks and see what your machine has recorded. Rich

- I did remember your previous issue with the pressure switch. The machine won’t give you a break. I’m thinking about your issue while you are waiting for the TDS to arrive. You fail in spin cycle with the LL code.I’m wondering if the Roller Clutches are sticky allowing the tumblers to rotate more than an 1/8 of a turn as you enter spin cycle dragging the wash load off balance. This should cause the tub to start banging around and the TDS should signal an unbalance condition to the Control Board. You report the TDS check is not working and maybe without that unbalance signaling to the Control Board the machine shuts the spin cycle down with the LL code. I still believe the LL code for the FAV6800AW is related to proper Motor RPM expected by the Control Board is not reached/sensed in the spin cycle and the Control Board shuts the machine down with the LL error code.Any repair folks out there that could let me know if I’m out in left field with that thought? While you are waiting for the TDS to arrive I would try this and see if the tumblers are rotating more than a 1/8 turn as you start into spin cycle. The classic clutch malfunction issue with the FAV6800AW/FAV9800AW. The washer rotates the wash basket slow RPM CCW during the water fill cycle.I would turn the H/C water valves off so you don’t spray water all over the place, release the washer top from the base so you can observe the tumblers in spin/CCW rotation of the wash basket. They should not rotate more then 1/8 turn at the start of spin cycle. With the washer top raised throw a few dry T-shirts in the wash basket start a Quick Wash cycle. Observe the tumblers and see if they rotate more tahn 1/8 turn at the start of the CCW rotation. If they do that may throw the wash load off balance. I would drop the clutch out and re-lube the Roller Clutches in the clutch pulley.I’m wondering if you have a slight tub seal leak causing a clutch issue again. Did you try the Quick Spin test to see if the machine would go to 850 RPM without load and with a small load ? I’m wondering if you have a double failure a TDS not signaling properly and a Clutch issue.I believe you went through the double failure issue with the clutch failure causing dc errors in spin cycle and the ND error “Stuck pressure switch contacts” failure. Take a look at the SM page 12 issues related to spin cycle failure. Wet Clothes • Very small clothes loads can cause unbalanced loads - add additional towels. ---Buzz--- wrong answer I would re-lube the roller clutches or replace the clutch pulley assembly. • Excessive suds may have been present. --- maybe a past concern your are using HE detergent and small amounts right?Excessive suds I feel could gunk up the diaphragm of the pressure switch. • Check Tub Displacement Sensor connection and main harness connector at machine control board. I like that now we are troubleshooting. • Check Tub Displacement Sensor for 0 to 3.0 Volts DC output voltage between ground and the board input. Check for 12 Volts DC input voltage between the ground and the board output. Only check for voltage at the Tub Displacement Sensor. Do not perform a continuity check. See Tub Displacement Diagnostics. ........ I really like this suggestion we are now troubleshooting like techs…..If you have a DVM and you are comfortable with making measurements I would make those checks at the Control Board, I have made those measurements you just have to be careful no big deal and it will help you fault isolate.
