Sony trinatron dropped!

I accidently dropped the sony trinatron while moving it. It plays video (like X-Box). It changes over to video mode when you adjust the volume. Can this be fixed? The TV belongs to my roommate and he wants me to get it fixed.
Thanks.

If you dropped the set you have probably cracked the circuit board around the Fylback transformer or other places on the board. You should get a technician to look it over.

I dropped my Ps3 accidently, and now it's behaving

if it does not read games anymore ( like if you insert a cd and it doesn't start working ) that means that the hard drive ( the part that reads the game discs ) is broken , why : because when you dropped your ps3 the head of the actuator arm scrached the platter ( the platter is sensitive , even a tiny scratch will stop the hard drive from working ) , so the solution is to change the hard drive , i hope i helped .

My Sony Bravia KDF-E50A12U has a ghost effect when I play the ps3 or xbox 360. Strangley my virgin media HD box gives a fantastic picture. I have tried the 360 and ps3 on other tv's and they work fine....

Ok, firstly, disclaimer.

This "solution" utilises a "service" menu, that only trained engineers should use. You are not one, you are an "end user". biggrin.gif So am I, but I paid attention. wink.gif

Use of this information is entirely at your own risk, you mess up your telly, it's your own silly fault. Don't go messing with stuff in there you don't know about.

Ok.

To bring up the "service" menu, put the TV in standby mode, then press in sequence :

Onscreen Display ( the little screen with the i+ in it )
5 ( channel number 5 )
Volume Up ( upper end of volume button )
Analogue ( middle top button )

The TV should switch on and when it's warmed up, you should see a screen with lots of big green lettering on it.

Press the "menu" button ( middle bottom )

Use the direction dial to move down to "LCD Drivers" and press right on the dial to enter this menu.

Move down to "S H Pos Reg R". It should be "10", change it to "11". ( Left/Right to adjust )
Move down to "S H Pos Reg G". It should be "10", change it to "11".
Move down to "SHPos Reg B". It should be "10", change it to "11". (it's on the next "page", keeping scrolling down the menu)

Press the menu button to drop out of the menus, and the standy button to drop to standby. Switch back on, and hopefully your ghosting will be gone.

Sony trinatron has no menu control, can't auto add channels

YOU NEED TO GET INTO THE CONSUMER MENU AND ACTIVATE THE AUTO PROGRAMM MODE. I BELIEVE WALMART CARRIES A UNIVERSAL SONY REMOTE WHICH WILL ALLOW YOU INTO THE MENU.
