My Sony Vaio VGN-SZ460N is completely dead. I have tried to boot with powercord and battery, and with powercord without battery. Nothing happens, no lights, no sound, as if there is no power at all. What can be the problem? How can I get it fixed? Ernst

- problem persist; when you say 'change battery, do you mean the main battery? But the VAIO doesn't work when I take out the battery and plug in the power cable. It should right? Thanks, ernst

For that open back cover of laptop.
Then find motherbord .
Pull cmos cell from motherbord for 10 minutes then refix.
Also pull RAM memory then reconnect.
Then if problem remains then you have to change battery .
