We have the Lucent MLX-5D, employee has terminated and we need to get to messages. Please explain how to do this without knowing the password for this particular extension.

Every single manual is avalable from the Avaya website. The cabinet in the back room is either off-white or gray metal. If it's an off-white one, it's probably a Legend. If it's gray metal, it's a Magix. The manuals are HUGE. Most of my customers have an 8 1/2 x 11 Administrator's guide, and a little spiral bound set user's guides, both for the console and the MLX-28DP phones.
Search around your place and see if someone has one squirreled away.
It should be a night button on that MLX 20L. But there are TONS of ways to make that system do what you are describing. It woould take a vendor to dial in and pull some prints top say exactly.
