Go to routerlogin.net, the username is: admin, and the password is: password, OR 1234.  You can follow the setup wizard or manually assign the IP address.  I hope this helps!

4 Steps to Disable MAC Filtering on Netgear Router

The MAC filtering tool with a Netgear wireless router generates an access list based on the individual Media Access Control numbers that you connect. Because each computer-based networking device has a solve MAC address, the MAC filtering should stop unauthorized users from connecting to the Wi-Fi network. However, due to the instructions required to locate the networking device MAC address, you might get it onerous or inconvenient to add new systems to the network. In such situations, you should turn off MAC filtering and choose the other security approaches like WPA 2 encryption.

Note: - To get additional information, you can call on the Netgear customer service number and seek the help.

1.Launch the web browser on your computer connected to the router through a wireless or wired connection. Input the following URL 'www.routerlogin.net' or 'www.routerlogin.com' in the address bar and press the 'Enter' key to show a login window.
2.Input the 'admin' under the 'User Name' box. Input the password you chose when you configure the Netgear router. If you didn't choose a custom password, enter 'password' to sign in. Press the 'Enter' key to show the Netgear router's main menu.
3.Click the 'Wireless Settings' button under the 'Advanced heading' tab on the left menu bar. Select to click on the 'Setup Access List' option near the end of the page. It directs you to the 'Wireless Card Access List' page.
4.Remove the check mark of 'Turn Access Control On' box at the upper of the page. Click on the 'Apply' option to save and apply the changes.
However, if you suspect that anyone has accessed your Wi-Fi password or you have any kinds of functional or technical issues in connecting to the Internet using your Netgear router, you should directly speak with the experts regarding your router glitches and get them resolved as quickly as possible. At such time, call at the certified Netgear customer support number available on the ContactforService directory site.

I've a problem with using the WLAN with nokia

This may be a problem with your router. Routers have a feature where you can control which computers can access the network using their physical address. This is called the Media Access Control (MAC) address. Every wireless card and network card in the world has their own unique address and is represented in hexadecimal format.
You'll need to notify your router of your phone's MAC address. On my netgear router, I access the router through a browser on a computer connected to it by typing www.routerlogin.net (i think... it varies with different routers) or the gateway ip address e.g. 192.168.1.1. Find the option for MAC address management, in my netgear it's called Access Control (i think) and there should also be an option to add MAC addresses. Add in your phone's mac address and try again.
Your phone's MAC address should be located on the box it came in or under the battery of the phone. The MAC address is in the format 00:A1:B2:C3:D4:E5:F6:7A.
Good luck

I just set up a netgear router and a lynksys expander. All my laptops work, but iphone & itouch will not. Seems as though the password has changed. Can this happen? How can I find the password? When I...

If you did not configure the Netgear wireless router and changed the default settings and the default password password, then your wireless system is open to anyone hacking into your system and change your wireless router's settings and they can hack into your computers and your Internet connection. The Linksys expander will increase the wireless range to give a wider coverage to your router.
I suggest you reset the Netgear back to the factory defaults (press the pinhole button on the back of the Netgear router until the LEDs flash then release this button,
The configure the Netgear as follows :-
To set-up and secure the wireless router from unauthorized access, follow these steps: -
1. Connect the wireless router to your computer with a LAN cable.
2. Start your browser and enter the router's configuration URL IP address.
3. Enter the router setup, login and password
4. Change the admin password
5. Go to the wireless settings and change the default SSID and turn off SSID broadcast.
6. Setup encryption key the strongest is WPA2 (if not then WPA).
7. For further security measures - turn on MAC address filtering and enter the MAC address of the wireless cards on the computer/s you want to connect to this wireless router.
8. Record the settings you have made and keep it in a safe place and Save the settings.
9. Configure the wireless cards on the computer/s with the SSID and encryption settings of the router.
10. Remove the LAN cable between the router and the computer then the computers should be able to connect to the router wirelessly.

I have two routers Netgear DG834Gv3 and Thomson SpeedTouch TG585v7. I want to create a wireless bridge between these two routers, so that I can have internet on the Netgear router. The main router/Access...

I am sorry but I am not so familiar with the Thomson Device but I can give you a clue on how to set it up....you can skip the security settings first just make sure they work then you can set it later...Check it out!

- Thomson as "Master Router" connected to modem set up as follows
-- 192.168.1.1
-- Set up wireless access point as you normally would in Wireless Settings, muine are "MY_SSID",Channel 2,b+g mode,
64-bit WEP with hex key (rather than pass phrase)
--- Enter any laptop wifi MAC addresses in the "Client Access List" here to allow them and make sure it's set to restrict
them
-- Set DHCP range to 192.168.1.10 to 192.168.1.127 (my preference) in "Lan Settings"
-- go to Wireless Bridging and Repeating menu option
--- Set "Enable Wireless Repeating Function"
--- Set as "Wireless Base Station"
--- DO NOT check the "Disable Wireless Client Association" if you want to be able to use laptop wifi
--- Enter the mac address of your "Slave Router" here
Make sure all of the above is applied and has stuck, i had a habit of setting some things then clicking to a sub-menu
before clicking apply, always scroll down and click apply before drilling into sub options!

DG834G V3 : "Slave Router"
-- Get latest firmware as earlier v3 firmware doesnt support WDS
-- 192.168.1.2
-- Enable Wireless Settings and set to exact same as "Master Router" including 64 bit WEP key and MAC access list for
laptops etc
-- Disable DHCP in Basic Setup (I think)
-- "Advanced Wireless Settings" menu option
--- "Enable Bridging and Repeating"
--- Select the "Wireless Bridge With Client Association" (or similar) option
--- Enter the "Master Router" MAC address here
Again, double check everything has stuck, that the "normal" wireless settings for both routers are identical and reboot
both (in either order worked for me but booting the Master first is probably best practise)
GOOD LUCK!!!

How do i access my belkin router settings?

Are you sure you are connecting to your wireless router and not a neighbors wireless router by accident? Try connecting to your router using a ethernet cable and typing in its IP address. Your Netgear routers default IP address should be 192.168.x.x (gateway address).

open internet explorer and type 192.168.x.x and the will get u to the belkin router page and then click on mac address control and then type your password to get in to the router and it will take u to all the mac address u have allowed or denied.

Good luck!

Please rate me.
Thank you.

Having trouble accessing router with ipod touch and nintindo dsi

Hi,

In order to Unlock Netgear router you need to know the login password for router's login page and if that does not work, you can try with a default username : admin, Password : admin, still if you are unable to access the routers page then you need to reset the router by inserting a pin in the pinhole where it says reset at the back of the router...press and hold down the pin for 30 seconds and then restart the router, this will take the router back to default settings and then apply username : admin and password : admin....it should work

Netgear address : 192.168.0.1 ( Type in IE address bar to access it )

Anup
