Also, if the games you want to play are copied, like $5 games from asia, you will need a modchip to be installed in your console. if they are licensed real copies, you can buy a datel freeloader to make your wii region free

Check your wii configuration to make sure it is set to North America
Go to your Wii Channel Menu and select the feature for which you want to change your regional settings. For example, if you want to change the setting for the Forecast Channel, use your Wii remote to select the Forecast Channel. If you need to change the region for the Everybody Votes Channel, click that channel.
Go to "Settings" and press "A" to select it.
Go to the "Nearest Location" tab and select "Change."
Scroll to the bottom of the location list. Select "Choose from other regions."
Choose the region nearest you after scrolling through the various regions listed. Select it with your Wii remote and press the "A" button.
Select the location nearest you from the list by pressing the "A" button.
Click "Yes" when prompted. If you wan to change the settings, click "No" and make the necessary adjustments.
Hi there! North American TVs, consoles and DVD players play video and games in the NTSC format (region 1), while Ireland's and most of Europe's play in PAL(region 2). You best bet to be able to watch your dvd set will be to purchase a dvd player that plays multi regions (these will be a bit more expensive) or to order a region 2 dvd player from Ireland or somewhere in Europe that uses region 2. Hope this helps!
where did you get your Wii? did you buy this on the internet? did you mod the wii with a mod chip?
this usually comes from the wii menu/firmware 4.2 update which throws this error when it finds a modchip or region converted wii that came from another country like korea and was change to the region for the USA
In Singapore, your region is considered "Asia." The simplest way to play Wii games on a Wii from a different region was using Datel's Freeloader disc, but unfortunately Nintendo has patched their firmware blocking the use of this. There are other ways to modify your console to play games from other regions, but all carry a high pricetag and a great deal of risk, and Nintendo can patch the firmware to detect your modification and stop your system from working. You might consider importing a Wii from the UK using Play-Asia.com or a similar retailer. Best of luck!
the wii is region dependent, meaning that pal games require a pal console and ntsc games require an ntsc console, somewhere on the front or back of the game case it should say what region the game is. you probably just have the wrong region game disk, if so i would advise selling it and buying one for your region, if you have a lot of trouble finding the region code, or anything else, i would advise calling nintendos help line, they are very helpful and will almost always solvee your problem, they sent me a free power supply when mine stoped working. hope this at least helps a little, good luck.
