Question about Nintendo Wii Console

1 Answer

Upgrade Problem Ok so I got my Wii connected to the internet and went ahead with the upgrades. The wireless reception in the room I have the Wii in is pretty poor but still usable. (I'm typing off the laptop from there at the minute) Anyways the update started and made slow progress but once the blue bar got to around 95% full it stopped completely. It's been like that for about 2 hours now. Is this normal? Is it the connection that's the problem? It says "do not turn the power off" on the screen so I'm afraid to turn it off. What should I do now?

My Linksys will not connect to my WII

Well the first thing is that you have WRT160N router. This router has issues with the firmware. So first you will need to upgrade the firmware of the router. Download the firmware of the router from the manufacturer's web site. Connect your computer to the router. Open the router page. Click on Administration tab. Just below administration you will find firmware upgrade subtab. If you click on it, you will find the browse option. Browse the file that you have downloaded from the web site. and Click upgrade.
For WII, you will also need to change the MTU to 1365 and open some port numbers on the router.

Guitar Hero World Tour for Wii won't load

Solution: Wii Console needed to download a software upgrade from the web to run Guitar Hero World Tour. Internet connection in our home is via a Linksys ADSL wireless router. Entered Wii Setup menu (select Wii button on bottom left of screen). Changed Connection 1 from None to Wireless. Wii picked up the SSID broadcast from the router. Did a Test Connection which worked. Wii Console prompted me to 'download Wii System Upgrade from Web?'. Clicked OK. Download took approx 10 mins. On completion of download Guitar Hero World Tour loaded automatically. Note: I have read that the Wii uses wireless protocol 802.11b. Make sure your router has both 802.11g and 802.11b enabled or 802.11b only for the duration of the download. Best of luck.
