P-8 is an extra for optional added items. Sounds like your power supply unit took a few jolts. The fine wires in the motor are under high tension. If too many snap, the frays cause a short and the unit won't power up. Try replacing that before you go buy a ton of stuff.

How to power up mj270a1 without mother board

Amazon sells a power supply tester for very cheap if you just want to check it. There are other ways also. Unless you are familiar with electronics and have a multimeter I would not suggest them though. You CAN get electrocuted. You can jumper pins 15 & 16 with a short piece of wire and use a multimeter to check the Drive connectors for +-12 volts. The Amazon power supply tester is the best option though. It will test the main connector and all other connectors on the power supply.

Power supply light flashing green ,,, tried unplugging mother board still flashes green is it the power supply or the mother board?

Most computer testing facilities will test your current power supply for free. A replacement is very inexpensive to replace. Bestbuy, MicroCenter, small computer shops and buy replacemnent from, Just make sure you have the correct information for your replacement. The model number on the power supply would be your best bet in most cases. Good luck and have a great day. I buy power supplies as low as $15 dollars Generic

Comp does not turn on. green light off but goes on when mobo disconnected

Test the power supply in another computer.
If that works, the next thing is to check the mother board. Remove all daughter boards from the slots. Remove all memory, disconnect all hard drives, cdroms, etc.
Make sure there is nothing plugged into the mother board except the video cable (if it is on-board video), if not, then make sure you have a good video card plugged in.
Again with no memory, no boards except a video card, if needed, and the power plugged into the board.
Turn on the power, and watch the screen. If it works, then you should get a notice that there is no memory, no hard drive, and so on.
If that is the case, then proceed to install one item at a time to isolate the problem. If it is not the case, the the mother board is probably bad. One other thing to check would be the CPU.
If you get no notice with the above, then the cpu could be bad. Check it in another computer, if possible. This should tell you what the problems are or is.
In the above cases, either the cpu or the mother board can be isolated to see what is bad, if any.

Computer wont turn on

So, lets say that you have double checked all cables, and everything is plugged in properly. When you hit the power switch on the case, do you hear the computer start then shut down several seconds later? Does the computer refuse to do anything but power a motherboard LED? Also, did the computer (or the person carrying the computer) bump into anything while moving it? The most minor bump can cause many problems.

I would try replacing the power supply with another one from a working PC, but just to make sure that the power supply unit is the problem. If it isn't, make sure all heatsinks are locked down appropriately and making full contact. Other than that, I don't know what you can do.
