P-8 is an extra for optional added items. Sounds like your power supply unit took a few jolts. The fine wires in the motor are under high tension. If too many snap, the frays cause a short and the unit won't power up. Try replacing that before you go buy a ton of stuff.

I have an AsusP5P 800 mother board and the unit won't power on.

I had a very similar issue like this, how many RAM modules do you have installed? if you have 2 DIMM installed try removing the memory on at at time(try interchanging the RAMS), see if turns on. if not might be the motherboard itself thats possibly defective.

Sound problem!

May be too basic, but first : 1. Check whether you have installed speakers in the Speaker Out socket 2. Speakers are powered on properly, try on another system for confirmation if possible. 3. Check whether your Microsoft XP with Service Pack 2 ? If not, install SP2 first and try reloading the drivers. 4.
