It is an either/or thing. I would recommend you get a headphone amplifier or get external speakers and drive them externally. Internal speakers are relatively poor quality anyway

Adding remote control activated ''mute'' to TV headphone jack

Generally when the head phone jack is inserted the speakers will get disconnected automatically.

If you are going to use external amplifier you can try the AV sockets. Opening the TV you may require the special screw drivers some times.

Speaker have become staticy. Don't get a clear

Try headphones to see if the audio is the problem or the speakers as a first test.

If speakers have gotten wet or filled with dust/dirt could be the problem.

Wet is fatal, replace them.

The sound is very low about 30% of what i would expect it to be, Can i do anything to increase it, thanks.

Notebooks are notorious for having very poor sound quality. In order to keep notebooks small and light, very small speakers are used, which results in very quiet output, with very poor sound quality.

Before giving up, check all of your sound settings. Go to Sound from the Control Panel and make sure that everything is set where it should be. Also make sure that the master volume is turned up, as well as the volume control in whatever program is providing your audio.

Outside of that, check out some nice headphones or external speakers, whichever works better for your situation.

Hope this helps. Please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.

Scratching (static) noise coming from computer speakers

I foudn this in anther forum:
I have an ASUS motherboard P5E3 Premium. The audio that came with it was the Sound Max audio. I also noticed abnormal sounds coming from the speakers. They included sounds during hard drive activity and also with mouse movement. They were not loud but noticable. I searched all over the web but didn't find the answer. I stumbled across the fix myself. I also have vista-64. In the sound control panel > speaker properties > levels... there is a pc beep slide bar. I noticed that if it is disabled then the abnormal sound went away completely. Problem solved. Hope this helps.
