The red paper light is blinking.

The lights continually flashing indicate a paper jam or the printer being out of ink. Check/clear any paper jam and verify the ink cartidge is set correctly.

Paper light flashing could mean several things on this machine.

There could be a paper jam in the machine. Open the front cover remove the drum and toner and look in the machine. Open the back cover and look for a Jam as well.

Try putting a piece of paper in the manual feed tray which is right above the paper tray, sometimes on certain documents the margins are too big and asks to go into the manual feed slot.

red paper light is blinked as it is indication that plz insert paper in your printer, and ink light blinks because your printer is low on ink, kindly get your printer cartage refilled.

i recently bought a second hand hl-5140 and when switched on had the fault you have described - on checking machine over i found a small piece of torn paper stuck in the paperpath. after clearing, the printer worked fine.check over for paper again as mine was only a very small peice.

If you're printing on paper, your paper ran out or multiple
pages have fed at once. Make sure you push the tray lever
up to set the front tray to the paper (lower) position. Then,
load more paper and press the ) paper button to resume printing.

If you're printing on a CD or DVD, the CD/DVD tray is not
inserted. Follow the instructions beginning on page 27 to
insert the tray, then press the ) paper button.

Check the back side of the printer to make shure no paper jam, if its clear take the paper tray out unplug your machine for about Two minutes, reinstall the paper tray make sure pick up roller is free located at the front of the printer that feeds the paper, plug your machine see if it works,
If not unplug your machine again for two minutes
hold down Key ( 3 ) & ( # ) plug in your machine while you are holding both keys tell reset, It might take sometimes up to 4 or 5 minutes.

No there is no configuration page. The red blinking light means you have no paper under your blue tray or the paper empty sensor is broke. To identify the noise open the lid then close it, if you hear the noise while the fax is warming up then most likely you have a bad gear that meshes with the fuser drive gear, although it could also be the toner or drum. If it's not the toner or drum I stongly recommend a service technician , he should be able to provide an exit tray.

hi, Take out the toner and check for a paper jam.turn the printer upside down and check under the paper tray for a jam. When you reset the printer check to see if the printer picks up the paper, if it tries to pick up the paper then the red light flashes you should rough up the roller on the front above the paper tray, the rollers sometimes get smooth and won't pick paper up. You should also look inside where the toner cartridge goes and there are some little plastic flaps.Check that these are not stopping the paper going it. hope this helps
