Re: Won't turn on

Depending on how long ago the water was spilt and how much was split you maybe able to recover the laptop. Unhook all power to laptop including the battery. Take out the memory, the keyboard, hard drive and your CD/DVD rom if you have one. Use caution removing these items, ESD. Used a hair drier on low/medium heat to help get ride of any water still in the laptop. This may take a while. Leave the laptop without its power and the rest of your hardware for a few days so it can continue to dry. Place everything back into the laptop see if it powers on. If not then the water may have fried your motherboard. You can then take it into a technician to see if it can be repaired.

Dell inspirion 5520 laptop won't turn on

For this kind of issue, please follow up the following steps to check:

1.confirm the battery and ac adapter connect the laptop normally.Maybe the bad connect lead to this problem. If there are no lights when you turn on laptop, one of possible reason is that your adapter is malfunction.

2.the second possible cause is laptop dc jack failure. If the dc jack is broken or loose, you are required to replace it or repair it.

3.Another possible reason is that there is something wrong with laptop motherboard. For this situation, it includs two kinds of possibility,a failure in an electronic circuit and BGA malfunction.

For more detailed reasons and solutions, please have a look at the following article:

If you verify your laptop adapter is dead and you plan to order a new one, I recommend one for you on the basis of your laptop model:

Soapy water spilled on acer keyboard. Now won't key

More then likely you will have to replace the keyboard, if none of the key work anymore since you spilled water on it. If you need a new keyboard you should be able to order one from acer but that will be more expensive you could try getting on from eBay just be careful from eBay from were you buy it from. If you do end up buy a new one they are really easy to take off and put the new one on just make sure you have a really tiny flat head if you could put the model of the laptop and how old it is and I could see put a walk through on how to replace your keyboard.

How to Fix Spilt Liquid on bda25ce.jpg?
You accidentally knocked fruit drink or a late night glass of milk on your laptop or your child spilled a good portion of milk directly into your keyboard. You hear a popping noise, the screen goes black. Water by itself is not as bad as milk or juice, both of which are corrosive/acidic, or coffee, tea, soda, etc.
First and most important -Calm Down and unplug the computer from its power source.
Disconnect it from the power cord and remove the battery. If needs, please remove the keyboard. The old adage - Water and Electricity don't mix - is quite true. For your laptop spilled water, let your laptop dry. Do not attempt to turn on the computer for at least 72 hours. Let it sit in a cool, dry place. If you disassembled the laptop, reassemble it after 72 hours have passed.

On powering, keyboard ,is not detected. Please advice

There is not so much that could be done to repair a keyboard. Disassemble the laptop, check the ribbon cable connecting the keyboard to the motherboard. If the ribbon cable is loose, tighten it. If it is tight, replace the keyboard with a new one.

One more test to perform is to check if an external USB keyboard works if attached to the laptop.

Hi, Can you please advice how can I remove keyboard from ASUS A3H laptop. Thanks

First , You have to know that the fact of opening you pc removes warranty!!!

To remove your keyboard , you have to turn your notebook and open it .
Turn screw to the emplacement where it is written a " K " and you have to turn a screw of the ventilation block which is in the same level than the K vice.

After , you turn the notebook, open the screen and with a screwdriver you push a little on the top of the keyboard in order to drag the keyboard to the down.

You can see the clipse system of the keyboard and remove it to put the new keyboard or verify if your keyboard has a good connexion.
