You need to replace the keyboard.
Have you spilled anything on the keyboard? If so, and if it was sticky, this would explain the problem. Unfortunately, you cannot get the keyboard replaced under warranty if you spilled on it, since that is considered "user abuse" or "user-caused damage". If you have not spilled anything, however, and if your computer is still in warranty, then you should have no problem getting the keyboard replaced. Since this is a consumer laptop (as opposed to the business laptops, which I am authorized to repair), I would suggest taking it to Best Buy. If it's out of warranty, you should be able to replace the keyboard yourself isf you are able to locate one on ebay or wherever. HP keybards are pretty easy to replace. Two or three screws on the bottom will release it and you can pop it out. Just don't yank the cable out.
