Loud pop and lost picture sound stay on and works

OH YEA. I saw a lot of these when they first came out. What happens normally is the x or y drive boards, possibly both, short and cause a major pop in doing so. Sometimes it can be so violent that the power supply gets wacked as well. I hope you have extended warranty. This can get real expensive. By the way, LG manufactured that set.

The short is being caused by a product defect. the spacer and glue are melting behind these boards.
