Question about Wacom Intuos3 6X8 USB with Pen&Mouse [ PTZ630 ] (127137)

Intuos3 tablet not functioning on entire screen area

When I try to use the Intuos3 tablet on my Windows XP the stylus only allows the mouse to move in a very small area in the upper left corner of the comp. screen. May have to do with the window when I'm installing saying "mouclass.sys" needed from the Windows XP Service Pack 2 cd. There isn't any such file on my computer.
I installed the latest driver from the Wacom website - no avail.
It works perfectly when I first install the tablet software, but when I restart the computer it reverts back to the old problem. Any help? Thank you.

I have the same problem. I installed the Intuos 3 on a new computer, " Vista" OS and it works fine everywhere except Photoshop CS3. It even works fine in Bridge.

I'm having the same problem. I'm on an XP machine.
What usually fixes it is I have to remove all user preferences, then uninstall the driver via the Add/Remove programs panel, disconnect the tablet, re-install the drivers, sometimes I have to restart with the tablet plugged in in order for it to function normally... BUT should I ever have to restart my computer, it will revert back to the same problem where it only allows function in a small area in the upper left hand side of the screen.

This is VERY frustrating, I've tried calling Wacom support, and the gal there tried to be VERY helpful and spent the majority of the day tracking this issue, but we could not figure it out...

    Please help!!!

I bought a wacom intuos3 6x8 and I have the exact same issue on my desktop. I even upgraded my XP to service pack 3 and this did not help. This is not a problem with the tablet hardware since it works fine on my friend's laptop. I am unable to use my tablet since the day I have bought it.
Im not sure if this has anything to do with my desktop config (asus m2a vm, amd, gforce 8600 gt xfx... )
Hope someone can help us fix.

My Wacom pen doesn't work. The blue light on the tablet turns green when I touch the pen to it, but the cursor doesn't move on the screen. I thought that the tip needed to be replaced, but after changing...

Does the mouse work (on the tablet)? What happens when the side buttons are pressed do they work? Try un-installing the Wacom driver (Pen Tablet Utility) and Install the latest version from and see if that helps.

Hi, the cursor is stucked in left upper corner and almost doesn't move when I move the pen. The tablet area is set to FULL.

I had the same problem try reinstalling the driver and putting the driver on your desktop to save it since sometimes it screws up at weird times and its handy to have on there. Do not go to re collaberate tablet settings or try to put specific settings in for your computer it will make that happen. I had someone try to give me a fix and retry to reset the tablet itself but it made it worse and caused that. Mouse mode is disabled and only pen mode works for that. So try reinstalling it and not changing the specific settings for your computer its in another menue screen the main settings are fine to play with but don't do the tec stuff it screws up when you recollaberate the tablet to your computer or monitor settings.

My wacom pen does not work at all, the mouse on the tablet does though

on some older pens, the barrel can spin out of position. If your barrel turns, it can mess up it's function.

Turn the barrel until you hear or feel a clicking into position and try again.

If that doesn't work, move wacom cable to a different usb port. worse case, replace pen.

My Wacom Intuos3 tablet won't switch into pen mode

The winning answer came courtesy of Mr Benedikt Schmitt of Wacom Europe, who offered the following solution: from the Windows Device Manager, disable the “Wacom Virtual Hid Driver” device. (Go to Control Panel > System and Maintenance > Device Manager, find the driver, right-click it and choose “Disable”.) One reboot later (welcome to Windows-land, circa 2008?), everything works as desired. Pressure and tilt sensitivity inside Photoshop still work, and the pen functions just fine in the rest of the Windows desktop. The absolute mapping makes it an absolute pleasure to point quickly and precisely. It makes my laser mouse feel rather clumsy navigating a large 24′ screen!

Pressure sensitivity problem in Photoshop CS3

OK, I found the problem -- if you open photoshop with the mouse (whether it be through the quicklaunch bar, start menu, or desktop icon), the pressure sensitivity doesn't work. If you open it with the stylus or function button (I have a function button mapped for photoshop now because of this, since there's no icon on my tablet's display with how I have my display set up) the pressure sensitivity works fine.

A quick KIND of fix, but until Adobe actually does something about it, this is probably the easiest way to do it.

My Wacom Intuos3 tablet won't switch into pen mode

I had the same problem with my Intuos3 on Vista. Tech support suggested the following.

Do this.....Go to Start--->control panel---->system(in classic view)---->device manager--->click on "human interface devices"--->then click on "Wacom virtual HID driver" and right click on that and disable it. Your computer will ask you to restart and you will want to do that.

Everything works fine now.

Wacom tablet doesn't work

Probably a driver problem, update or reset the drivers for it.
