This machine heats up the water real hot but only percs a few times before the red light comes on. We end up with clear hot water, no coffee.

What's it look like? What if I can't find it? Where can I get one?

  • ishaque5 Apr 06, 2008

This is my exact problem. However, I don't understand the solution. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. There is nothing loose on my perculating pump.

same here! can't figure out what's wrong.  there is no spring and the "dip tube" in our model is attached permanently.

The coffee is not as hot as it used to be. Machine is a few months old, used a couple of times a day. We are on well water, not city water.

Check the spring under the grounds basket on the pump tube. This is supposed to hold the end of the tube down in the heater well. It should compress when the lid is pushed down on the basket and twisted to lock in under the handles.  I have found a good source of parts for Faberware urns and percolators at goodmans.net. The thermostats and heating elements can be easily replaced and the urn returned to original condition. Rich of Colorado

Check for a "dip tube" that may have come off its tubing between the reservoir and grounds basket.

Will not percolate. Water is poured, it heats up, no coffee brew

Bunn Home brewers don't perculate. They work the same way that commercial brewers do. Fillit with water, let it heat for about 20 minutes, then put your filter and coffee grounds in the funnel, pour a pot of water into the machine, put the pot on the warmer, and let the water run through. Then enjoy a nice hot cup of coffee.

After my faberware perculator brews it will reperk after a lil while Is this a themostat problem

Thermo is OK

The problem is the keep warm element. The reason, your pot perc's and it gets hot near the thermo, the thermo turns off the main element. The keep warm element is not on so after a small amount of time the water cools and the thermo turns the main element back on again, thus making the water hot. The K W element is supposed to be on all the time the pot is plugged in, it is instrumental in perking the first brew making it really hot, the thermo turns off the main element and the K W element keeps the water hot. The K M element is very a easy fix, it is the small looking white rope that runs around the bottom of the pot. You have 1-nut and 1- screw to remove. When removing the screw from the main element you must hold the (leg) that the K M element is screwed to so it does not bend and brake off. Take your time and be firm with the pressure you apply to the screw, while holding it with a pliers. I have the parts. send the model # callahanronald@att.net. Good luck

Coffee pot just would not brew this morning, though it worked fine yesterday morning. I emptied it and started over 3 times. The lights come on but that is all that comes on.

Check the water level. Check to make sure that the coffee filter under basket is clean and not plugged. YOu can remove your filter, then take out the basket and clean it....when did you purchase the machine?
