Question about D-Link AirPlus DI-524 Wireless Router

Router disconnects I have a problem with my router that is really frustrating.  The router works fine but after exactly 2 hours and 6 minutes it disconnects. everything says its connected to it but it can't obtain the ip address. You have to disconnect the power and plug it back in. It's annoying especially when I'm downloading something and  I'm not home for the whole day or sleeping.

I don't know about the exact time, but the same thing happens to me. I can't even access the setup menu for the router, even if I setup the computer with a static ip address, still can't access the router, only by unplugging the router can I get it to work again.

1 Answer

Go into the router menu and check for "automatic disconnect after xx min" and set value to Zero.

Sounds like your router is too hot. try turning on a fan to blow right on the router. if that doesn't help I suspect a bad router.

Netgear router DN2200/wireless problems.

that really shouldn't hurt it unless it included a pretty nasty fall as he tripped over the cord.

are you certain it still has the correct power cord? i've seen people accidently switch the modem power cord and the router power cord and the router tends to not like that.

good luck

My Belkin n1 router disconnects from telstra every 2 hours - exac

This is a known problem with the Belkin N1 Vision Modem Router. The router keeps time by connecting to a Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) server every 2 hours. The solution is to go to and download and install the pre-release firmware which is supposed to fix "A problem where the router could drop some connections on 2-hour intervals" among other things.

Losing connection from the router

You may have an IP address conflict with another machine. why don't you just plug the router into the computer to see if that solves your problem first. If it doesn't. you should contact your internet carrier. You can also try this: turn everything off, and unplug EVERYTHING for a few minutes. Plug the AC adapters back into the devices FIRST, then into the wall. this will often drain power and solve IP issues.

Router causing lag after 10-20 min connected.

I know nothing about this type of router. Try pressing the button on the bottom and rebooting your router. Maybe that will help.
