Motorola WR850GP Router

XBox 360 not compatible with Motorola WR850G (by 3 users)

posted by wishbar on Dec 26, 2007

can't get xbox 360 to connect to xbox live, the connection test fails at MTU, wired or wireless. My WR850G (not on Microsoft compatible lsit) doesn't allow me to change that, except when using PPPoE, which isn't applicable to my cable provider.

I have latest firmware (6.1.4), but it started working after cycling power to the router and cable modem.
I have the same problem.

I also am experiencing this problem. When I set the router for PPPoE, I lose my internet connection. Please Help!

I am surprised that you are having this problem. I own the WR850G and I have no problems connecting to xbox live. I have my router connecting to the dsl modem using pppoe. And the router is set to allow any other devices connecting to the router to use dhcp. Note that I have my xbox 360 using dmz from the router's settings. Even though I had it at one time not using dmz, it was still going on xbox live. Maybe you need to update the firmware in your router. I know mine has the most up to date firmware released.
