Cant embroider on toyota quiltmaster 50

The Quiltmaster 50 can only do free-hand embroidery. Use the darning foot. Set the machine for a satin stitch with a stitch length of 0 and lower the feed dogs. Manually move the hoop to stitch your design. (Trace the design on the fabric and place on a stabilizer if needed. Center the design in an embroidery hoop and move the hoop under the needle. In my limited experience, all fabrics need stabilizers. Some require multiple sheets of stabilizer.)

Personally, I have trouble moving any fabric under the pressure foot. This is mostly a matter of practice. You have to make a lot of scrap piece trials.

This site has the manual for the Quiltmaster 50 (European version): . See page 37 (49 of the PDF).

I hope this helps.

(who actually cheats: I either use an embroidery sewing machine or I use a late 1960s Singer Sewing machine with its Monogramming accessory. This has pre-programmed designs on little discs. That's why I don't practice free-hand stitching.)

My Fashion Mate 6160 beeped and stopped sewing & automatic threader doesnt work

if the machine still sews a straight stitch on top of fabric & also on bottom then it should be fine..
it's possible that the thick fabric, needle, & thread were not a compatable combination.
but also some sewing machine are not made to sew thick or heavy
but having the machine serviced would be a good idea & help to know why the needle thread is not working

4D d-Card Reader/Writer Kit and Husqvarna Quilt Designer II

Assume you are loading your designs using Organizer? Yes? I have very limited experience of this, preferring to use Disk Manager (but you need to have this program which I am guessing you don't).

It is my understanding that Organizer will only load one design to an embroidery media, not a whole menu of various designs. However you obviously are not "seeing" even one design. Did a pre-loaded Husqvarna card come with your machine? I think it should have, but if it didn't then that doesn't help you very much either.

I am wondering if the D-card is not "formatted" for embroidery recognition. The Designer machines like to receive their designs in a certain file arrangement but I'm afraid I can't offer you advice on how to format the card - I do my formatting through Disk Manager.

However, while I was writing the above it did occur to me - are you loading designs that are the .shv format? Your machine will not recognize .hus, .vip, .vp3 or any other format. Please write back to this group and let me know if any of the above was useful to you. I belong to a Yahoo group that deals exclusively with Designer machines, so I will ask the group members if they can come up with any helpful advice.

Using Pfaff 130 to sew leather, needle won't pick up thread from the bobbin to complete the stitch. I'm using a leather needle and upholstery thread... any help?

This machine really isnt quite designed for leather. What has happened is your hook to needle timing is out.

When you sew through thick materials, a lot of machines have issues where the needle sticks in the fabric but all the internal parts shift and this causes the hook to needle timing to go out. The begging signs of this is skipping stitches. You will have to have you local independent sewing store do this adjustment for you

Hope that helps,

I would try embroidering on a scrap of like material to get the tension you want. My Brother (different model) manual doesn't say any specific tension setting for embroidering but just says to set the tension right for the fabric to be worked. If the fabric is stretchy, I suggest using a little looser tension than say cotton, just make sure it doesn't pucker the fabric.

The fabric doesn't move forward.

What is the length set at?

Are the feed dogs visible at the needle plate?

What does the design look like in the pattern box?

Have you tried it on the straight stitch to see if is effected also?
