I personally work with Fellowes brand shredders, but it sounds like you have a paper feed sensor issue. This may be a mechanical or electronic sensor located in the center of the paper feed slot. If it is electronic it may just need cleaning(qtip dipped in rubbing alchohol. If it is a mechanical sensor check to make sure it has not been broken or it may be stuck because of paper that has become wedged behind it(you may need to jiggle the switch a few times to free it). If none of this works you may have a burned out switch or a bad pcPaper not going down - 1.gif board, contact manufacturer for more info.

How do I remove paper stuck in my shredder????I have a Royal 10X Cut Paper Shredder. On label it has PCUA:29054E 10x 00324040. How do I take it apart to remove the wedged paper???

You may have to turn it upside down and go to work with tweezers and a utility knife to remove every bit of paper from the mechanism. I have found that 10X rating to be overly optimistic; the equivalent Royal shredder I am using currently groans and complains if more than a few sheets are fed in at a time.

My VF 1012mx paper shredder won't feed the paper in order to shred it. Green light is on but nothing happens when I put the paper in.

Does it run in reverse.????
You may just have dirty "eyes" where the paper is inserted, OR they may be defective.

Sometimes spraying shredder oil on the cutting teeth wil work.

You should shred paper with a light weight machine oil poured on the paper to keep the cutting teeth working freely.

Good luck.

P.S. If this doesn't work then just take the head off and cleanj/lubricate any bearings you find.

My shredder overload light comes on immediately with only one sheet of paper inserted and it won't go.

Try running the machine in reverse and putting some shredder oil onto the cutting blades to loosen things up. Then try running the machine in the forward direction but hold the paper in the eyes but dont let it go into the shredding blades...see if it runs forward.!
If it will do this then slowly try paper 1 sheet at a time..but put some shredder oil onto the sheets of paper you are shredding.
If the overload light still comes on without even letting you shred 1 sheet of paper then you likely have another problem...maybe the motor or pcb..you can contact Royal at 1-800-524-0799 for parts assistance.

Royal VF700 won't barely shred one sheet of paper. It givexs the overload red light when 1 sheet of paper has just barely started to be shredded.

Royal. Haven't heard of that brand. Could get in contact with tech service, but it's probably easier to grab a new paper shredder.
Paper shredders can be pretty cheap though, great guide to cheap paper shredders here: http://hubpages.com/hub/Best-Paper-Shredders

ROYAL RL170MX Shredder won't shred

Did you ever put shredder oil onto the cutting blades?????
The blades can clog with paper dust and then it can't shred as many papges as it should or even jam completely...you should occasionally shred a sheet of paper with shredder oil poured onto the sheet.

Royal VF 1000, overloads with one sheet of paper

Try pouring some shredder oil into the cutting blades where you insert the paper then run the unit in reverse for a while. Then put some of the shredder oil onto a sheet of paper and try shredding the sheet of paper. Some lubrication on a x-cut shredder does not hurt.

Turns on when paper in slot, but won't pull it through to shred.

must disassemble feeder unit. you will find many bits of shredded paper to pull (push) out with a long narrow tool like a crochet needle.
