I would like to know how to work out currency conversion formula on a normal calculator please

Yes,

1. Select the column. (click on top of the column it will select)
2. Right Click and select Format Cells.
3. Select Currency in Category then press OK

Now just type your Numbers i.e. 571 for $571 and -650 for -$650 and sum using the normal way.

That is Select the Cells which you want to SUM and Press Alt+=

This will bring the total just below the selected cells.

Panofsky and Brier methods is normally being used for the conversion of barometric pressure to speed in m/sec or to nm/hr (knots). Being a professor in a maritime schools for this lesson, i encourage students to understand this.

Paypal along with any other bank can charge you above current listed exchange rates. They are charging what is called a currency conversion fee on top of the conversion rate. For instance, American Express will charge say 4% on top of the conversion when you spend foreign currency on their cards. MasterCard & Visa do the same thing. Even if you were to go to England tomorrow, when you bring your US dollars to have them converted in the airport the rate is always above the current spot market rate because they include a conversion fee. Sorry but you aren't due any money back and no interest, Paypal is doing nothing wrong.

Using logarithms. For example, if A ^ X = 2; then X = logA(2);
This calculator only works in base-10 logarithms or natural logarithms, you should use the base conversion formula.
logA(X) = logC(X) / logC(A).

In the Windows calculator application located in the accessories folder in the start menu, you can calculate square yardage by using area formulas such as length times width for a rectangle/square. To enter this with a keyboard you would enter (the length)*(the height) as long as your units are in feet or yards you will get the answer in square feet or yards. The Windows 7/vista calculators have built in conversion factors for yards and feet that can be found by pressing view>unit conversion.

1. This lot does not have the form or a regular quadrilateral (rectangle, square, parallelogram, etc.)
   
2. So you cannot calculate its area, you have to know exactly the shape it has.
3. With polygons, one usually cuts them into triangles.
   
4. You have to cut it into two triangles,
   
5. measure the base and the height of each triangle,
   
6. use the area formula for the triangle ( area = heightX base/2)
   
7. After you calculate the areas of both triangles, you add them to get the area of the the whole lot in ft^2.
   
8. Using the conversion formula between acres and ft^2 which is 1 acre=43560 ft^2, you divide the area of the lot in square feet by the number 43560 ft^2 and express the result as a percentage or a fraction .

How do change the currency rate?

When you press the [M/EX] key, it toggles between conversion mode and memory mode. You will see "EXCH" on the display when in conversion mode.
C1, C2, and C3 are three conversion rates. C1 is your home country currency, and so it is always set to 1. C2 and C3 are rates for two other countries, which you can change.
For example, if you want to set a conversion rate of $1 to 0.95 euros, here is what you would do (using C1 for US dollars and C2 for euros):
1. Press [AC]
2. Hold [SET/%] for about two seconds until "SET" appears
3. Press [C2] to select currency 2
4. Input the conversion rate (0.95) and then press [SET/%] to store it in memory
You can check the currently set rate at any time by pressing [AC] and then [C2].


How do I perform a currency conversion?

Suppose the value for $ is stored in cell A3. Your formula would look like this: =(A3+A3*0.25)*1.5

The equals sign at the beginning of the formula is necessary. And if you want the result to be formatted as currency, you can do so by right-clicking the cell or column, format cell, number tab, choose currency.
