Ms700 router

i have my 700 router connected to modem and ethernet on back of cpu. the power light and wireless light is on the router and the modem light is blinking in sync with the modem. the #4 port on the router is lit but not blinking. can you help me. i cannot get on line with my laptop.

Your laptop must be plugged into port 4, correct? Try this (assuming Windows XP): Click Start, then Run. In the box type CMD and click OK. In the black window that comes up type (without the quotes) "IPCONFIG /RELEASE" . Wait for the prompt to come back up then type "IPCONFIG /RENEW". Wait a few seconds. Type "EXIT". Try your Internet again.
