Question about Cooktops
I've got a Frigidaire Gallery black ceramic top stove. The model number wasn't totally clear but I'm pretty sure it's either CFES388REB1 or CFES388RED1.
It has 4 elements, two small, one large (left rear) and one expandable element (right front). The inner circle of the exandable element works but the outer portion hasn't been working for the past week or so. Is there an easy way to fix this (like a fuse change?) or need I call a repair person?
Thanks a lot!
You will need to call a professional these are very complicated and not easy to service, there are no fuses either. It will most likely be the element itself that has failed and they are not cheap. It also could be the switch too however it will take a person very familiar with schematics to properly diagnose it. Or you could just replace the element and switch yourself and that would most likely solve it.

Depending on the model & year purchased, these may be under recall for a fire hazard involving elements that stay on.... www.smoothtoprangerecall.com
is the site to check, (my GALLERY had this problem, and it's almost always the expandable element that fails.... you can get it fixed whether or not you experienced this problem, they will send a free repair service to avoid future liability... yours does not appear on the list, but I would call Frigidaire anyway, to see if they will add this model to the service recall list

Tips for a great answer:
Good Afternoon friend, thanks for your post!
I see that your oven and broiler will not work on your Frigidaire range. It could be possible that your elements are bad or the thermostat may have shorted. I would suggest performing a reset on your range and you can do that by flipping the household circuit breaker off for roughly ten minutes. If that does not help resolve your issue you may need to have a professional technician come out to pinpoint the issue within your range. Best of luck! -Matt

Hello friend, thanks for your post!
I understand that you would like to clean under the cooktop on your Frigidaire range. Could you provide me with your model number please? You can locate the serial tag (which lists your model number) on the storage drawer on the right hand side. With this information I can better assist you. -Matt
