Question about Maytag Neptune FAV6800AW Top Load Washer
When you set the timed wash on my Maytag 8608 AAW washer and pull the knob, no water flows into the washing machine, yet if you turn the switch to the rinse/ spin cycle, the washing machine works, Any ideas? Thanks.
Have you tried starting the wash cycle at several different time settings? Especially the shortest time setting, just before the start of the first spin? If it works at another setting, it's possible the dial/switch mechanism is worn and not making contact at your usual setting. In any case, a spray of a good electrical contact cleaner spray (NOT WD40 or similar) - with the power lead UNPLUGGED - sprayed into the switch mechanism might help. You would need to remove an access panel to get at the switch mechanism.
