Question about ION Audio iTTUSB Turntable

1 Answer

It doesn't work!

I got the iTTUSB turntable for a gift. I believe I have hooked it up correctly per the instructions that came with it. The turntable appears to be working but no signal is getting to the program. The meters show no movement. I have plugged and unplugged all connections and tried all of my usb ports. I have rebooted my computer. I am using the ion software and have windwows xp system.

With everything plugged and running go to preferences in FILE and set Recording Device and channels to Audio device USB in Audio I/O.Tick software playthrough.
now set the microphone box to Stereo mix on the home screen(box is left of small scissors) hope this helps.nigel.

Volume not loud enough when hooked to stereo

It will require a phono preamp...designed for a magnetic phone cartridge that takes into account the RIAA rolloff so you don't lose bass response. A mic preamp won't work properly.

I am getting no sound from my USB Turntable (iTTUSB). I did with my XP computer but have since moved up to Vista. I have lost the orginal CD that came with my turntable. Do I need a Driver for this...

ION iTTUSB turntable has buzzing sound when I record

It sounds like you have a bad ground on the tone arm. It's probably time to replace the tone arm wiring, or the external connecting cables.

Ion turntable install disc is in Japanese only

The Ion page for this turntable is here. Maybe you'll find what you need there. Where did your unit come from that it has only Japanese-language instructions?

I want to know how to operate iTTUSB.

I think it's plug and play. Plug the record player in the usb slot, let your computer find it, turn on your recording program, drop the needle on the record.

Missing Parts

You need a headshell unit (which is needle etc for the front of arm)
also the felt pad.. also known as a slipmat, you can pick up at dj supplies shops or on ebay..
I need a counterweight myself as my ION turntable also had missing parts when I got it as a gift.
I found a headshell on ebay which is perfect...Turntable Cartridge and Headshell Black DJ DISCO USB on eBay (end time 08-Sep-09 00:11:01 BST)
I havent yet found a counterweight..I hope I will!
Hope this helps in some way..

Turntable does not turn round

Have you put the drivebelt around the motor spindle - the instructions don't make it too clear. The belt is already on the underside of the turntable, you just need to put a finger through the hole in the turntable, pull the belt out and hook it over the motor spindle. After that, if you've pressed the power button (back right), you should see the 33rpm light come on. If it's on, press either of the 2 big buttons on the left hand side and the motor should turn. You can check by looking through the hole in the turntable & see if the motor spindle is turning. If none of the above work then you have a faulty unit.

If the belt is stuck, it will be hard to take off without damaging the belt. Send it back.
