My scandisk cruzer micro 2GB

I purchased this about 2 months ago and have treated it very well, always used eject, spent most days around my neck.
No matter what computer I plug it into there is no light or any responce. Is there any way I can get it working, I can not afford another?

I would like to have it replaced but there is alot of info on it that I need is it possible to retreive the info?

my computer does not recognize it.

I have the same problem, whenever I used to plug it in to any computer, an orange light would come on, but now all of a sudden nothing happens, the computer doesn't even recognize that I plugged it in, and there are some very important documents I have saved on this thing. I would also always use eject and stuff but now it doesn't work.

A student of mine had the same problem - and the IT department said the data was lost.  However, I know that data is never really lost until new data is written to a drive (this, after 30 years of using computers).   It sounded to me like a power issue if the light isn't coming on.  Here's what I did: 1. disassembled the drive, taking the chip from the housing. 2. plugged it in and slowly wiggled it in a circular motion until I saw the light come on, then held it there while it installed its own software. 3. I did have to reboot, when prompted 4. I did get the occaisional error, but I just kept trying and sometimes had to hold the drive in place, it gets hot, and I finally wedged something to hold it in place and eventually the launchpad installer worked and I retrieved 6 months of my student's work.

I dont think that this will work but you can try it. Download file recovery software from the internet.

It sounds like your Cruzer is bad and needs to be replaced.
You could try to replace it where you bought it. (This would be the easiest way)
Or you can send it to SanDisk
Here is a link to their warraty proceedure.

Don't mess with that , microcircuits are not to be tampered with unless you know exactly what you're doing and have all the nessessary tools and a clean room.

if it's not broken don't fix it.

You only need to use disk management !!
    for Win_XP:
    Right click 'My Computer'.
    Choose 'Manage'
In the left pane, under 'Storage', Choose: 'Disk Management'.
When device is connected it will appear as: 'Disk xx - Removable'.
It should be not allocated (Black Line), so you only need to created a new partition and format it.
    Good Luck !! :-)

    Stopped working COMPLETELY!!!!

    Had same problem.

I wiggled back and forth the part that goes into the USB port and the drive was recognized and I could copy my files onto my hard drive.

I had this problem with a different make USB flash drive and used the same procedure to get the files back.

I think that some connection inside the flash drive works loose after a while.

I am not going to trust these drives for files storage, but only to transfer files.
