I have a new sony kdl40v5100 flat screen. My power went out a few days ago and when it came back on there was a white screen on the tv. I saw the closed caption was off on it so I turned it on. I got the tv working fine again except that I can not turn off the cc ? I can't find that white menu screen that I used to turn it on and turning it off on the remote for the tv will not shut it off. I need help or one of my kids to come visit me a fix this problem,I just hate to ask them for help again....

    I did it myself:o) It was the cable box. I have charter cable and the trick was you need to turn off the cable box and hit the menu button while the box is turned off to get to that white screeen that has the cc switch.

Turn off the cable box but leave the tv on,push the menu button for the cable remote while the box is off and that white screen will appear.shut off the CC switch. It was not the tv's fault but it was in the cable box.

Thin white horizontal lines!!! I've had my WEGA KE-42M1 for 5 years with no problems until about three months ago. After about an hour being on, there are thin white horizontal lines that move randomly...
Sounds like your TV is giving out, plain and simple.

If this doesn't sound right, then only one thing comes to mind. Have you moved the TV recently? Are you using a different coax cable, (if using cable that is). If so, just change the cable back to the previous one and you should be fine.

I have a new sony bravia KDL40V5100 that now displays at the top of the screen "demo mode" and "motionflow" and on/off at the sides.I've tried evrything and cannot get rid of it.It displays all the time....
Press the menu button on the side of the TV, not the remote, for several seconds.

It's possible that the screen itself went defective or the controller board for the screen. It's best to use the warranty at this point because the replacement board or screen panel maybe somewhat expensive. Being that it's only 8 month old, manufacture warranty shouldn't be an issue.

Numerous white spots on Smasung DLP TV
If your Mitsubishi TV has white spots in the picture , you can call Mitsubishi @ 1-800-332-2119 and request a free DLP Chip to fix the problem. They will send the New DLP Chip at no charge to a TV Tech in your area to install it for $200 flat rate. That is about a $250 savings if you had to pay for the chip . Call them with your TV's Model number and serial number and let them know when and where you bought the TV.
It saved me some hard earned money and now my TV is like New !

My lcd tv is cracked
If you mind the lines and if they are too big replacing the screen will be very expensive and there is no way to repair your current display. The way I see it if you pay more 65% of the current value of your TV is too much. You may be able to find a new TV for as much as the repair cost.
