Question about Toshiba Satellite A135 Notebook

Too many intermittent problems

I have a Toshiba A135-52326. I get disconnected from the he Internet and it asks me if I want to work off line. I am able to reconnect, but it is a pain. I am also having an intermittent problem when typing. It is sometimes so slow that it misses letters or whole words. I am using the pointer device, and I am having a problem when trying to scroll. It is also intermittent, but when I click on to scroll I have to play with it so that it will scroll properly, otherwise I just seem to bounce up and down instead of staying in one location. I am having other problems as well, it freezes up on me, I get a black box across the top that says Toshiba flash is not working, which causes me to have to shut it down unconventionalIy. It turns itself off, or sometime the screen just goes blank and no matter how long I wait trying to move the cursor or type, the screen remains blank! All I can think is thank god I bought a cheap computer for if I had spent a lot on it I would be off my rocker by now. I basically bought this to travel with me as I am retired. I wanted to be able to access the Internet, and read and respond to my e-mail. These two basic things are very troublesome when it comes to this computer! I bought it in April but it had no power cord. I called Toshiba which was to send me one, however when it never came I finally got one in June from the store I bought it from. They finally agreed to give me a cord that they were previously unwilling to do, from a new box of another one that was identical to mine. I was upset that it had taken me 2 months to get a power cord that they were now willing to give me. They then told me that they were only able to give it to me now because they were shipping all the others like it back. Upon asking why all the others were being shipped back, I was told new computers had come in and that was the only reason that all the rest of the computers like mine were being shipped back! Who knows, all I know is that I have a computer that sucks while trying to do the simplest of tasks

I suggets you to do the following:

1) Go to internet explorer select tools then internet options in that click the connections tab and select never dial my connection option. This wont ask you to work offline..

2)Next go to tools then internet options and delete the history as well as the cookies.

3)Go to start>All programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Cleanup.Now clean up da hard disk.

4)Now run a Full system scan.
If the above steps dont make any difference then you have to re-install your operating system.

Ipconfig media disconnected

Do you have an internet connection on your computer? My Toshiba shows all media is disconnected and even shows a red X on my internet connection, but I am connected to the internet. I believe it is a driver that needs to be updated. Your question is very vague so I can not really give you a solid answer.

If the modem and line in are OK, change cables and clean Phone line jack connections with alcohol. Look for oxidation on pins or bent, damaged pins.

Wireless connection keeps disconnecting. I have tried two different locations, but I get an ip address and then it disconnects

Try to turn off & power back on the router for 60secs. If this doesnt work, reset the router using the reset button at the back of it. If it still doesnt work, youll have to contact your Internet provider, & tell them that you have an Intermittent Connection Problem.

Try disconnect the router and connect your laptop to the dsl modem. If there is connection then the router may have problems. If the problem persists then go to toshiba service center. They will certainly solve your problem. It might be that there are problems on hardware or drivers.

Internet connection problems with a laptop using alltel data card

This sounds like a Line noise problem not a modem problem. Try getting a line noise filter from Radio Shack or a local computer store and see if that will solve the problem. You might check your house wiring for loose connections as well or possibly Ants in the box outside your house where the phone lines come in.

just go to the modem properties and you will see a option there called wait for dail tone if u see tick mark there please remove the tick mark your problem might get solved. if this doenst work then check up ur cable and the modem

You need to secure your router. Your router might be unsecured and your neighbors can connect to it without you knowing and you get to share the bandwidth of your internet to them which causes it to slow down. Contact your router manufacturer and have them assist you securing it. Others tend to connect to unsecured network and have free internet.
