Need to replace water pump. The transmission will not allow the unit to spin until most of the water is drained out. The pump is located on the front of the moter and can be accessed through the bottom of the machine.

Baumatic BK6EL washing machine will not fill with water, it only lets a cup full in, shuts the water off and starts washing. Any ideas? Thanks, Mandy

One of the most common problems encountered with washing machines that need repairs, including Baumatic machines, is no water coming into the machine or the soap not being taken from the soap dispenser box. There are two main reasons why this could happen, 1. because the water has been turned off inadvertently from somewhere, or 2. because the water inlet valve as become faulty or blocked.
If your appliance is not taking in water the first thing you need to know is if the problem is with the hot or cold supply, to find out you can put your appliance onto a white wash cycle and start the machine this should bring hot water into the machine and you will know within a few minutes if the hot water supply is working or not, and to find out if the cold supply is working or not select stop/reset and then select the drain or spin cycle and this will empty the machine of any water, now select the rinse cycle and this should bring cold water into the machine and you will know within a few minutes if the cold water supply is working or not, once you are sure of the results select stop/reset and then select drain or spin again to empty any water that may have entered the appliance.
At this stage you should know whether the hot or cold supply is at fault, the next thing you need to check is that the water as not been turned off inadvertently, check both the stop **** and the washing machine connector valve/s, to see if you can tell if it as been turned off or not, if you think it as, turn it back on and do the hot and cold cycle test above for the cycle that failed, if the water is still not coming into the appliance you know need to turn the water off from the washing machine inlet valve/s one at a time and slowly disconnect the the inlet pipe/s from the washing machine side and point the washing machine inlet pipe it into a bucket and then turn the water back on, you should be checking to see that the water is on and also that the water pressure is OK.
There is a good chance your appliance could be working OK now, but If the test above shows the water is on and the pressure is OK but the washing machine is still not taking in water, you will need to have t the water inlet valve and or the water pressure switch and water pressure chamber tested, the diagnosis procedure covered here will work for Baumatic washing machines that need repairs, it will also work for most other makes.hope this helps

Washer won't spin and empty the water out of the

Shirley, it may be the drain pump is obstructed or possibly the lid switch is broken. If you washed bath mats or rubber backed rugs recently i would go for the pump. If you washed a semi bulky item with a tendency to float I would go for the switch.
Get me a model number and I can help you with dis-assembly if you'd like further help!

How to remove the agitator

it is a bit hard to tell you when I dont have a name of your washing machine but this is the way I use to do it so I hope this helps you dear.
ok start with the top of the agitator now if your softener goes in the middle there this part usually pulls out if it dosent it will unscrew but u will probably need a pair of multi grips to unscrew it. If the softener bit in the middle pulls out then the rest is easy just pull it up and it will be out but make sure you have no water in the machine as this will cause you grief and you will not be able to pull it out if you cant get the water out of the machine I have the soloution without turning the machine on NO POWER NEEDED just take the pump hose the one that pumps the water out into your sink
and lay it flat on the ground all water will be out or if the machine is in the house get a bucket put the hose in there then lift the hose up back into the sink empty bucket and continue util empty. hope that helps dear
Cheers from the Gold Coast

Washer stop in middle of rinse cycle

All content © 2000 © 2009 Washerhelp
> Home / Repairs DIY washing machine advice (part 8) Washing machine sticks or stops mid-cycle repairs-sm.gif A very common fault on washing machines is when the program timer fails to complete the cycle and stops part way through. Many people blame the program timer for this but although it is a possible cause, there are many more likely causes for this fault. The program will stick if the heater isn't working, if the thermostat fails, if it can't fill up with cold water for the rinses, if it can't empty the water etc. There are too many possible causes of this fault to be able to give anything other than rudimentary advice. However, the common causes of a washing machine sticking that can easily be fixed are filling and emptying problems.
Check that the cold water supply is available to the washing machine, which is a common cause for sticking on rinses. If the washing machine appears to stop mid-cycle and isn't filling with water on rinses then see Washing machine won't fill with water (or no water goes into washing machine) before calling an engineer. If the washing machine can't drain the water out then it will stick on the rinses, or it will abort with an error code. If you can see water still inside the washing machine then check the following advice Washing machine won't empty water

Baumatic BTWM6 washing machine flashing F02 error

hi, you need to empty the filter, ours does the same all too often. The filter is located bottom right of the machine at floor level, which is rather daft for an integrated applicance; we have to remove a whole length of plinth to empty ours. Be warned, a lot of gunge and water will come out so have towels at the ready, especially if you have a laminated floor. Turn the white slot with a a 10p piece......and empty. Not the most pleasant of jobs, but effective. Good luck!

check the cold water supply, either from the mains pipe, there is no water getting into the machine, if water is there up to the machine check the solenoid for circuit, to do this unplug from electric, remove lid, and test the two wires on relevant solenoid, no circuit means faulty solenoid, (test with the 2 wires removed from solenoid) take care note position of wires to put back properly answer above based on info given
