Question about Garmin StreetPilot 2610 GPS Receiver
When in use the device's screen will shake violently and make a clicking noise. It then becomes unresponsive to any of the buttons and lets out three quick beeps anytime I push anything.
The solution is listed on the garmin site but it is not clear
The problem is with the infra red remote reciever on the unit
Sometimes the sun acts like the remote is being pressed and that is when it shakes
the solution, and I hope you still have the unit cause there is nothing outthere like it.
Answer: from garmin site Normally this issue is caused by sunlight from certain angles hitting the Infrared (IR) port on the unit. This makes the unit react as if the remote control was communicating with it. This makes it switch in between screens just like if you were using the remote.

Try cleaning the screen as it is a "Touch" screen, sometimes residue will remain to confuse it thinking it is being touched.be particular about what you use to clean it with. I would sauggest something for PC screens. it helped mine some. try simple things first. always worth a try.
