How to replace spin belt for whirlpool imperial 70 clothes washer
Hi thanks for the question this problem can be a lid switch also if the lid switch is bad , it wont send powerdown to the wig wag solenoid . the spin solenoid is mounted on top of transmission , when plunger on solenoid is activated it drops the clutch and spins , if the solenoid is bad then it wont activate the solenoid , to test to see if you have a bad solenoid disconnect power , on the solenoid you see 4 wires just the red on the left and yellow on right reverse these 2 wires plug in washer . select spin .activate washer if the washer starts to wash on spin the solenoid is ok then i would change the lid switch thanks fr the question THE APPLIANCE DOC
There is indeed a drive belt to the imperial 70. Problem more likely is in the 'wig-wag' unit that engages and disengages the spin clutch and the agitator drive
There is no belt. This is a direct drive unit. There is a motor coupler located between the motor and the transmission.

Have a 30 yr old Whirlpool Imperial 70 washer which all of a sudden stopped spinning. Won't spin for any of the different wash settings. The motor runs but the unit will not spin. What do I have to do to repair it? Advice will be much appreciated. Thanks
