Question about Nintendo Wii Console

Scrolling Ghost Lines

When I turn on my Wii, I get these vertical ghost lines that scroll horizontally across the the old TV's that had vertical hold problems. I tried moving the Wii away from the TV thinking that they were too close, but that doesn't seem to solve the problem. Any ideas?

Re: Scrolling Ghost Lines

Maybe what you should do is try unplugging the wii, or you might have bad cords, my last piece of advice is maybe the audio cords are messed up?

Wii has flashing lines across screen then turns black, stays black, and can't do anything. If i am able to turn it back on it does this again rather quickly

This needs to be professionally repaired.
The problem is in the systems video card
There are only a few people that can do the process properly and fix the system permanently.
the wii console is probably the most complex system to take apart and put back together properly without damaging anything internally due to the small nature of the unit.
if you need help getting this unit fixed please feel free to contact me

It's been ahile since I've used my WII. All the

I'm not certain, but it really sounds like you might have the cable plugged into the "out" instead of the "in."
The best thing to do would be to first try using the Wii on another TV. This will help establish if it is the Wii that is the problem or something else.
If it works fine, then it is not the Wii. If it doesn't work, then it must be the Wii or the connectors.
To complete the troubleshooting process, make sure the VCR and TV both are able to show clear images (play a tape in the VCR, I guess). If they both show clear, and the Wii worked on another TV then your problem is definitely in the connection. Either it is misconfigured or a wire is faulty.

Are the console and the TV both tuned to Channel 3 or Both to Channel 4. On the SNES there is a little switch on the bottom of the back labelled 3 on one side and 4 on the other.

Insert game disk and horizontal lines move fast on screen ???????

Sounds like your TV has multiple video inputs. Make sure the TV is set to the right channel or input. I know on ours if I hit the TV-input button on the tv remote I can change from inputs like s-video, video, cable etc and the Wii only displays properly on one of them.
