Re: dvd

Are you wanting to make a virtual copy of a DVD for usage later, or watch a movie by downloading it off the internet? If you buy software designed to circumvent the copy-protection built into today's DVD movies, you're going to spend a lot of money doing so, and filmmakers always change / update their copy-protection procedures and the software won't be able to keep up. One way to watch movies on your PC (that I personally use) is VONGO, which is video-on-the-go abbreviated. Vongo works well, and is relatively inexpensive.

There may be other services that do the same (or similar) thing(s) but I know Vongo is a good service, and no, I don't get paid anything to endorse them. It is easy to use and many movies are free.

How do I down load Windows 2007 to my computer

First of all its not windows 2007, its Windows 7. There are two options. Both need Win7 CD/DVD.

1. if you have currently vista installed, you can upgrade it by inserting the win7 dvd and selecting upgrade.
2. If you want a fresh installation, make sure the win7 DVD is bootable. That means when you insert the dvd in drive and turn you system on, the DVD should start win 7 setup.

Step 2 requires that your first boot device should be the DVD ROM. If you dont know how to check or set this, please revert with what computer do you have. Make/Model.

Windows crashed total so installed new windows vista pro now my dvd say its only cd and will not write dvd or and tells me no disk in drive when i insert blank dvd

It sounds like you need to upgrade the DVD-ROM drivers on your operating system. You'll need to go to the manufacturer's website to get the drivers for Vista.
1) Determine the manufacturer of your DVD-ROM drive. If you bought the drive separately from the computer, you need to go to the website of the company that made the drive (such as Samsung, Toshiba, etc.). If you bought it as part of a desktop or laptop, go to the website of the company that built the computer (HP, Dell, Lenovo, etc.).
2) Look for a link titled "Support" or possibly "Downloads" in the menu at the top of the webpage.
3) How you find the specific driver for your device will vary depending on which website you are on. Normally you have to enter in the model number of either your computer or DVD-ROM drive and it will show you what drivers are available.
4) Download the driver for Windows Vista (make sure you get the 32-bit version or 64-bit version, depending on your version of Vista)
5) Install the driver, typically by double-clicking the downloaded file and then following any on-screen directions. You'll then most likely have to reboot as well.
Everything should work after this. If you need specific help in finding the driver file to download, you'll need to provide me with the brand and model of your computer or DVD-ROM drive.
Hope that gets you up and running!

Computer does not recognize there is a disc in the DVD drive

If this is a Windows computer. Make sure that you have the proper drivers installed.
Is the disc scratched? that could also be an issue.

It is not download properly

Computer software's least downloads because of several conditions. First, the computer is incompatible with program attempting download. Usually the computer may have begun the process only least capable of accomplishment because the disk spaces became insufficient. Also, the computer would have started download because the disk media is compatible only least capable of interpreting the type of saved data on the disk. For example, a computer with DVD disk compatibility would appear to perform download on DVD R or DVDRW only least producing a display on the screen. In which instance disk and computers are compatible on least decodable with engrained misinterpretations. Unless the disk or computer disk lenses were malfunctioning either due to dirt particles or scratches or possibly an empty media requesting interpretation.

Can not playr dvd using windows media player

Microsoft's Media player won't plat DVD's. The reason is because the VOB format used by dvd is from the entertainment industry, whereas DivX, AVI etc are from the computer industry. To play DVD's on your computer, you need dvd player software such as Cyberlink. Alternatively, you can download the codecs required from Microsoft, but these are third pary programs you have to buy.

The following formats can be played on Windows media player:

Normally DVD players cannot read compressed formats, if you have a regular DVD/MP3 player, that wont read any of the formats above, or with some luck will read only uncoded Avi, mov or mpeg.

The formats above are all compressed formats, and often they need additional software call codecs, they can be read on computers, but they generally are not working on dvd players.

To be sure that a DVD will read compressed computer movies, you need a special DVD player with Divx , like the one below:
