Problem for Epson Stylus CX4600 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Epson CX4600 printer - will not print color at all

I just installed a used Epson CX4600 printer with driver downloaded from Epson.com. I installed 4 new Epson ink cartridges. Black only - no color in printouts. I've cleaned heads 3 times. Still no color - only black. What am I missing or what can I do? I got the printer from a neighbor (who I trust) who said it was working. I only installed one driver. I did not install any other drivers (for the scanning, copying, etc.) I wanted to make sure the printer worked first. Is there a separate driver for use of the color cartridges?

- Thanks for your comment. But I didn't see any protection tape on any of these cartridges. Like I mentioned, the black worked OK without doing anything to it. That's why I'm thinking I'm missing something on the software side of things. I could understand if one or maybe two colors didn't work or that they might be splotchy but to get no color at all seems like a software issue. Also, the ink levels are going down on all colors when I do the head cleaning routine. And when I remove the cartridge and touch the point that pokes into each cartride, there is a drip of each color (as I'd expect if ink was being released). Any more suggestions?Solution #1

no it should work at it is. if you installed the plug and play printer driver. have you removed the protection tape from the inc tubes?

- try to write a test page from the printer, you should hold down one button on the printer until it prints a test page.(dont know which.) I think you find it in manual. I will see if I find it.Yes
