HP PSC 2410 very slow printing issue

Printing is very slow. Takes about 15 min to print or copy one page, but will complete the entire page. Tried reloading drivers, checked cumputer memnory, disk space and spooling. Tried the full reset based on the this website. No success. Also with the printer connected or not connected to the computer the self test page will do the same long printing issue ( 15min). I also cleaned the glass ,tube and white strip based on the possible fixes with scanning at this website. I also tried copying a page with no computer connected same long print (15min). Any thoughts. Thanks.

Have been using 2410xi for about 2 years-USB to Dell 2.4MHz Celeron/WinXP/SP2 512MB RAM/60GB HD1 & 10GB HD2. All worked well until about 3mos ago when printer started printing veeeery slowly--1 to 2 lines then pause for a minuted, then another 1-2 lines etc. until whole page prints (it looks like a good print, if one can wait about 20 mins to get one page. Copy fcn works the same. Paid $20 for a Canon Pixma 1800 on a friend's advice and am now going to Kinkco's for copies--very inconvenient. I paid $250 for this piece of trash and would like to fix it, if at all possible (without spending another $250).

I have downloaded newer drivers, as well as HP's suggested software deletion tool, ran them a couple times, to no avail. Any other suggestions. Everything seems OK mechanically. Thank you very heartily if you can solve this problem.

The color cartridge may be the problem with mine too. I just got a new one and this sl-o-o-w printing, and no ink on the sheet began. I've just removed it, and the printer seems to come to life. However, it also won't print without both a black and a tri-color cartridge.

What a headache! Mine is the HP psc 1350 Fortunately, the scanner still works.

Print cartridge access door was not all the way closed. When I re-snapped them shut, printer worked as it used to

It is a cartridge problem. Solution for my hp 3645 (I have the same story as bb18, but different printer) was to remove color cartridge!
The printer is fast now, of course it does not print in color :) (I`m waiting for a new color cartridge) Good luck,

I have a 2410 HP printer and it prints very very very slow. Can you help me? Email address

I have the exact same model of printer, I find that it prints faster if you go into printing preferences and change the print quality to fast draft or fast normal. You can also set the printer directly by pressingcopy twice then press3 for copy quality, then select 3 for fast.
Doing both should produce faster printing for your documents. (NOTE : This will not suggested if you are printiing items that need to have crisp clean printing as the faster it prints the less detailed the printing is.)

It prints really really slow

Expect pictures to print slow no matter what.
For letters and all text documents set your printer up to print draft for the best printing speed.

HP 2410 photosmart all in one, copies and prints extremely slow, it will eventually print the job but it might take 20 minutes, ant idea of the reason?

Probably you are printing very high quality images/documents. Try reducing the DPI's in the settings. That should help

HP PSC 2410 printing extremely slow

Thanks for using FixYa. The maximum speed of the printer is 8 pages per minute, which cannot be exceeded. This speed is measured using "Letter" sized paper. "Letter" is a U.S. standard paper size, which is smaller than European A4. Your print job may be very complex. Try the following:
  • Reduce the complexity of your document (reduce the number of multiple graphics, etc.).
  • Try a different graphics mode setting in the driver, under the finishing tab.
  • Try printing the document at 300 DPI.
  • If system resources are low, try printing with fewer applications running.
Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Slow Printing

Hi, The slow printing issue can occure even if the cartridges are out or low in ink try to check the print function by the stand alone unit by printing a self test page Here are the steps to print a self test page: On the front panel of the product, press Menu (or Setup) . Press the Right Arrow until Print Reports displays, and then press Enter, Start, or OK . Press the Right Arrow until Self-Test Report displays, and then press Enter, Start, or OK . If the self test page takes less time to print and if all the color blocks and black block print fine the ink level are fine. if the time for self test is also more try to clean the cartridge contacts and replace the cartridges if needed this will fix the issue. If the printer works fine as stand alone self test and copy try to performe the steps in the below webpage: ========== ========== If the issue is still un fixed try to set the print directly settings in the printer properties Click on start >> control panel >> printer and faxes >> there look for the HP printer icon with the check mark and right click on it and select properties and then click on advance tab and under it select the print directly to printer and click on apply and ok to save the settings. Once done try to print and check with the issue. Hope this will fix the issue. Regards, Barret.
