Camera resets when powered off

My camera goes to the initial setup screen (language, location, date & time) whenever it is turned on - default date is 1.1.05. How do I replace the internal CMOS battery? How much does it cost?

I have the same problem with my Casio EX S600.
The camera does not save others setting either. I have even reformatted the memory.
Casio has not information about this problem in the troubleshooting section of the manual

It is very frustrating to have to set all settings every time I turn the camera on.

    Solution 1 does not help

I have the same problem too and I haven't had my camera for very long. It's very irritating to have to reset it all the time when I want to take a pic. I've tried leaving it to charge and resetting it but nothing works

Did any of the guys above fix the problem?
I can't get rid of the initial setup screen every time I turn on mine.
I bought it yesterday, I guess I will just swap it.
The manual dos not have a troubleshooting section for this problem.

On my mother-in-law's Exilim camera, we resolved the issue by formatting the camera's internal memory storage (take out your memory card and navigate to the format option on the menu). You'll need to then set the date and time again but it then seems to store it. Hoping that helps someone.

On the screen shows turn off and then turn on again and again-it does not turns on any way

Hi,

The Turn off and on again error message displays when there is an internal malfunction or a malfunction with the Lens. The error message normally displays with the issue with the Lens. Try the following steps to check if the issue can be resolved.
Try power resetting the Camera.
Turn off the Camera.
Remove the battery pack.
Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
Then, allow the Camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.
Re-insert the battery pack and check if the Lens retracts.
You can also try resetting the Camera back to factory default. To reset the Camera back to factory default, select the INITIALIZE option from the Setup 1 Menu of the Camera to OK. (Menu-->Setup-->Setup 1-->Initialize-->OK.)

This should resolve the issue. If the issue persists, service may be required.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Configuring display language, Date and Time Settings.

Perform the reset operation to initialize the camera’s setup (page 136). After that, configure each setting. If the language selection screen does not re-appear when you turn the camera on, it means that the camera’s built-in memory management area has been restored. If the same message appears after you turn power back on, contact your retailer or a CASIO service center.

Problem with flash and a blinking message

I have also a DSC-W30 and I tried to basically reset to the default settings, going to Menu button, (Right Arrow), Setup, Down Arrow (2 times),Select with round button,Scroll down to Initialize and select OK.

You must inizializate your camera, but dont leave time adjusting the date. When your camera restart select any date quickly, then change the camera to the ISO option, to desactivate the flash temporarily, then change to AUTO option, and desactivate the flash. For the moment is the best option. Te problem may be ocasionated because your camera was in wet area and ocasionate a shortcut, but you need to verify if the problem is in the flash card, in any terminal, or in the motherboard.

Date & Time loss with Exilim EX-S600

Good Morning :

Hope that you are wellJ

This is the response from Casio:

"The date and time will reset and the setting will need to be readjusted. The camera does not have a separate battery for the clock. The date and time will reset whenever the camera is not supplied power by the battery and USB cradle for about 24 hours."

Sounds a bit messy to me.

If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.

And, remember; always include the type of Operating System and the type of computer you own, when you submit your questions. It simply makes for much faster solutions.

Have a wonderful morning.
