Sony compact disc player initializing

The Sony unit was unplugged, stored for 4 days in another room, and when returned to original location, the CD player is constantly initializing. Radio and tape player seem to function, but CD player only initializes for hours.

Have you tried pressing hte RESET switch?? It's behind the removeable front of the stereo, use a biro or something and hold it in for a bit.

Failing that, check that there isn't a CD already in it, could be a dodgy CD?

While "NO DISC" message appears on the display of main unit, hold the main unit's STOP button for longer than 5 seconds. "INITIALIZE" appears on the display and all settings will return to the default values.
Using the RESET function will erase all stored settings.

DVD Player is not reading DVDs. when switched on NO DISC prompt appears.

It could be cause by a dirty optical lens. You can try cleaning it by using commercially available CD OPTICAL LENS CLEANER. Just follow the instructions given by the manufacturer. If nothing happen and if still under warranty just bring it back to the store or to the authorized service center. If not try to follow this simple step before you call a local repairman. Sometimes a dirty optical lens cannot clean by a commercially available optical lens cleaner. (1) Unplug the unit from the wall socket. (2) Unscrew the unit to remove the protected cover.. (3) The optical lens is located in the middle section of the CD tray assembly. here is the picture. Never touch the optical lens because it may add more add more damage on the unit. (4) use a cotton buds and a drop of cleaning solution or a drop of water if you don't have... Clean the optical lens but do not push so hard, just enough touch... Lost code for sony cdx-m800

You can enter a 4-digit security code as an option after purchase of the unit. If you do so, make sure it is noted down somewhere. If you did select a code (or the previous owner has done so) this must be used when the unit is removed from the vehicle, or the constant power source is disconnected from the unit. When constant power is restored to the unit, the security code must be entered before the unit becomes operational. If the code is lost or forgotten I am afraid the unit has to be re-coded by a Sony dealer.
Hope this helps, Good luck with it.

Como resetar o gfx8

zoom GFX-8:
The All Initialize/Factory Recall function is a special function
that lets you reset the GFX-8 to the condition in which it was originally shipped. When All Initialize is performed, all settings of the unit including all user group patches are returned to the default condition. Factory Recall can be used to reset only specific user group patches group to the default settings.
1. Turn power to the GFX-8 on while keeping the STORE key depressed. The display shows "ALL-INIT".
• To perform All Initialize, Continue with the next step.
• To perform Factory Recall, Use the BANK UP/DOWN foot switch and foot switches 1 - 4 to select the patch (from a user group) that you want to return to the factory default condition.
2. Press the STORE key once more.
All Initialize or Factory Recall is carried out.
If All Initialize was carried out,
the unit automatically returns to the play mode.
Note that when All Initialize is executed,
the contents of all patches stored by the user will be overwritten (erased).
When wishing to cancel All Initialize/Factory Recall,
press the EDIT/CANCEL key before step 2.

TEAC-P1260 - Initially Cd would play then eject randomly. Next would play only a few seconds then eject. Now has eaten a disc and will not eject. Any suggestions?

First you do is to unplug the cord of your CD unit for 5 hours in order to drain the stored current, the purpose is to reset the unit. After the 5 hours plug the CD see to it if it open If not, just try to press down on the stop button and pressing eject button at same time and it will unlock the tray .Then the other option is to open the cover of the CD unit and unplug the unit again to avoid electricalshock . When open already look for the disc platter moved it outward while driving the gear or simply push out. The drawer or door of the CD player and you will see a small circular disc which is often called turntable or disc platter. When the disc platter is out push it back and push it out you do this three times so the slider mechanism align it properly. If you do already what i said then plug it again and if works already closed the cover. The slider mechanism, depending on the age of the unit and the manufacturer, consists of the small chrome rail, a drive motor, a small gear assembly, and (in some units) a small belt that drives the slider unit via the motor. This small belt causes all sorts of problems. If the belt is broken or slipping, it can cause skipping, dropouts, or simply no start up at all. Also, if the belt breaks in the middle of the disc, the drive mechanism gets hair or dirt wrapped up into the gears, or the pick-up assembly doesn?t return to the start position (called home), the unit will (99% of the time) refuse to release the disc, causing it to become stuck inside the unit. There?s a little micro or leaf type switch located at home position that sometimes gets dirty or breaks and, causing this problem also. Hope it may help you; Regards; VOTIT

Curtis Micro Radio/CD Player Shelf System RCD882

When you load the CD, the CD itself sits on what is called the CD Table. The height of this table is somewhat critical to proper operation of the CD. Since this is a new unit, this should not occur. Return the unit for exchange or repair. If the unit is less than 30 days old, insist on an exchange. You should not have to be without the unit for something that new.
