unscrambled cable (QAM) signals.

Phillips 32PFL5332D/37 I have no remote control is there an app I can download on my phone?

If you phone has an IR output yes but I am not aware of a current model that has this feature.
Philips standard RC5 controllers are very inexpensive through fleabay or amazon, even from your high street store.

Phillips TV Model 42PFL7422D/37 that has audio but no video.

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

32" phillips tv turn self

If you go to this website, http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?ctn=32PFL5332D/37&slg=en&scy=US

You will see firmware information on the right hand side of the screen. Please open and read the Firmware Upgrade Read Me file. These contain instructions and the update history of this model TV. Underneath the Read me file you will find the download link. You must follow the instructions in the read me file or you risk damaging your unit further.

This is from the read me:
The set is switched OFF/shut down by itself after a few hours turning ON.

The newest upgrade should fix all your issues.

Hope that helps!

First place to check is the power supply board. I have not repaired this particular model. I'm very certain you have two bad capacitors in the power supply. This is a classic problem for Philips flat TVs. The capacitors will be bulged or skinned. Be sure to replace them with same values. I would certainly gamble my time removing the power supply for inspection. Spending a few bucks on two capacitors may prove good. A working TV is near. Thanks for asking and show all hands of support!

Phillips TV Model #32PFL5332D/37 Screen got broken. Replace or buy new?

Ok. Now this is a really easy decision. Buy new why? I ran a search for the cost of the part at partstore and its 588.95$ + Labor. It may go well over 700$. However all is not lost. Although the screen is damaged the other parts are good. There are stores like shopjimmy.com who will be more than happy to buy the parts(like Power supply assembly, mainboard assembly, inverter board etc.,) and you can easily get back more than 50% of the cost of the television by selling the parts. So add 300$ to that you can get a new TV! But do not disassemble it yourself if you do not have prior experience. It holds lethal voltages of about 15k-20K volts for several hours after disconnecting from the power supply. Get a service manual and read it thoroughly if you wanna do it yourself. It will show you what components to avoid. If you had the set unplugged for more than a couple of days then it should be relatively safe.

Good luck!
Sai.

Blinking light on 37" Dynex LCD

I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

Hope this helps
