What is the ccd base assy?

My camcorder comes on and I can go through everything but the unit will not play or record. I went through the manual and followed the instructions regarding the blinking tape but now three blinking horizontal lines appear in the top left corner and I have no clue what that is for. Can anyone help me????????????? I can't believe that I invested $220.00 in to this piece of #$&* (****). It appears that I have to spend money to get the damn unit fixed. What a waste and a shame that JVC has sold some defective units or perhaps they are/were just pieces of @#%#^ (****). The sad part about it is that I only used it three times and it sat in the original box for seven months and now that I want to use it - it will not work. Thanks for listening to me whine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a archos 402 camcorder and camera had about 2yrs only used handful of times cannot charge was put away in drawer never regwould like to get it fixed was bought on online telly shopping how do i go...

Hello - This problem can happen with any electronic device (especially camera's) that use tantalum capacitors. After a long period of no use they leak and their value changes. Two years in a drawer could well be a problem.
Try the user forum below so you can ask their technical support. My last Panasonic Camera even said in the manual - they recommend charging every 6 months.

Flip Video Ultra Camcorder: After I downloaded my last videos my camera stoppe...

Remove the battery. Connect the camcorder to the computer's USB port. The computer will show the autostart menu or give a beep. Insert the battery now. Use the 'Safely Remove Hardware' option, stop the device and remove the Camcorder from the Computer. Close the battery compartment. Bingo! The device works :-)

Will not turn on with good battery.

Can you not detach the lead to the charger unit, and plug that directly to the camcorder, to see if its the actual camcorder at fault ?
Near the camcorders power socket, you should see a small picture telling you what power the cam uses - usually around 7 volts, centre positive connection jack plug, at around 900mAh. As long as you get the voltage close, and have enough amps behind it, it will still work safely.
Camcorders are rarely fussy about the exact voltage, but you should never go above 9 volts unless its needs more. Most take the internal power down to 5 volts inside anyway.
The batteries do have a tiny non-replaceable internal fuse, triggered by voltage spikes or overheating, and if that goes, it usually means buying a new battery :(
Batteries can go at any time from the very first second they are used. I've bought many, and had a few that didn't last 2 months from brand new. One high-end type lasted over 9 hours on its very first charge :) and then never worked again after that :(

Camcorder problem

If it is not battery fault then its charging IC or fuse damage. You can also use external charger to charge the battery

I charged battery for 1 day but my camcoder no power. if the battery is bad how do i know? please helps.

If the camcorder will power up with the charger plugged in, it is most likely the battery. Depending on use, rechargeable batteries can go out in as little as 6 months.

Battery symbol blinking when put on charging.

It does sound like the battery needs to be replaced, but it also could be an internal charging problem with the camcorder. I would try a new battery first, since it's the easiest and cheapest option

Blurred picture

Sounds like you may have a condensation problem inside the camera - best way to check is to open up any card or battery compartments etc. and put it in a warm place like an airing cupboard (not in direct sunlight or on a heater) for a day or so and see if it makes any difference. If this doesn't solve the problem then please ask again and we can look for other possible solutions. Hope this helps :)
