When I have the card in and turn the camera on, I get a card errror message. Once I take the card out I don't get that message anymore, but I can only take 5 pictures with the card out. Aren't I'm suppose to be able to take more (15 or 14) I re-formated the card while in the camera, but the card back in and still got the same card error message. Is it the card or is it the camera???

I've done the reformat, but guess what. All my pic are gone.

At first, only some pic can be viewed in cam & on com as i get the pic error & "write protect" problem. However, everything is gone once i've reformatted the card.

I had the same problem,

but i fixed it by connecting my camera to my computer, right clicked on the icon and clicked on properties. went to 'Tools' then clicked on 'Error Checking' and ticked both options, then go scan/ok. and it worked for me :)

if it doesnt work, create a file named 'DCIM' and inside it create another file called '100_FUJI' ;D goodluck.

If the card is new (M or H type) it is not compatable with your camera unless a firmware upgrade is performed. If it is an earlier card (non M or H), you likely just need to format the card in the camera. Wait until the light turns green by the eyepiece before you hit the menu button.

Hi,

You need to reformat the memory card. If you can't do that in your camera then do it with an external card reader and your PC. If this doesn't help then probably the card has malfunctioned.

My camra is saying card locked when i turn the camra on have been through the menu but is does no give any clues to put this rig

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Transferred pics from computer to card and the camera will not display them - all are jpeg just like what the camera takes. These were from the camera but I wanted them back on the card also.

once out of the camera & deleted form the card, the camera will not display any of the images because it does not have that function. even jpeg images being the same format cannot be viewed.

When i connect the camra with the computer it says ''Error occurred. Process aborted''

You dont need the disc to download to computer.Take the card from the camera and put it into the card reader on your computer if one is fitted, if not you need one that goes into a USB slot When the card is inserted into the reader a box will open on the screen with several options as to view images or download them.

I would also download Picasa 3 which puts your photos in date order and also has photo editing. This is a free download and is part of google.

My camra has E18 on the screen

E18 is an internal error, the lens drive mechanism.

Canon has to fix it. If it is not under warranty, it will cost you around $160.

Camera will not turn on

i read up about it and turns out that that model turned out unsuccfull cause it was verry easy to lose data wipe the system cause a code error and dropping usially stuffed it up 2
but try this anyways if u have a docking station plug it in than make sure its off first then turn on
make sure u conect it to the computer when it reads the camra on computer then remove it then replug it back in and open the camra to the computer leave it runing on for 5 or 10 mins if your camra is stuffed it will show this message
An error occurred in the io-library ('Could not claim the USB device'): Could not claim interface 0 (Operation not permitted). Make sure no other program or kernel module (such as sdc2xx, stv680, spca50x) is using the device and you have read/write access to the device.»
or u simply have jammed the lense and broken the motor works in the camera
jaming the lens can cause a programing loop in the hardware and software i think the best way to fix it
would be to incert the CRV3; 2-AA lithium charger in and out a few times to stop the programing loop by a certian amount of electric voltage current that will shock ur programing system to automatically correct its self
you should have a flash memory built in and a SD/MMC card make sure that its incerted it will help stop any programing functions by automaticly sending data to the hard disk flash memory forcing the program to work
basickly try forcing programs to pick up the camra software like the printer dock the usb cable and the av cable
if none works it basickly stuffed
thoe u can hack it but seriously if u dont knw what ur doing don try lol
so yeaa thats about all i can do for u
if you understand programs and software and can hack heres a link youll just have to search in for the latest post on the download link
http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1011&message=20329748
this allso allows u to do a load more with ur camra like super zooming , auto face detect , more video effects ,extending a flash memory to ur internal memory and **** like that lol
write bakk
l8ers aii hope it works

Sounds like a corrupt format on the Compact Flash card.

Take the bettery out, then the CF card. Put the battery back in but don't put the CF card in. Switch the camera on and see if you get a different error on the screen. If you get something like 'Missing card' then the camera is OK.

You will probably have to plug the CF card into a PC/Mac via a card reader to see if you can reformat it. If it doesn't work I'm afraid it will need replacing.
