Question about Fisher and Paykel GWL11 Top Load Washer
The washer has been stopping during or after the wash cycle. It then begins to beep about 1 time per second. The 3rd and 4th light in the wash cycle and the first light in the rinse cycle are lit. The manual says I should unplug machine for 60 seconds and then start again. If I do this it runs through completely fine, but then the next time does the same thing. I have also just powered off and advanced it to the rinse cycle it works fine at that point as well.
(00110100) code 53 Diverter Top-up Faultafter 6 attempts to top up with water machine has failed. Possible causes are
1 water flow to slow
2 diverter vavle stuck in half open position and water pumping out as quickly as it comes in
3stuck in pump out and lowering water level totally
See if water is flowing out drain hose when washing ,if drain hose is to low water can siphon out and show same fault code

The Water Hose on The Hot water side has an automatic flood insert inside the hose so if the hose breaks it will shut off the supply of water to the machine. Changed hose and the machine runs perfectly.
Thanks for your timee

...most likely the balance sensor, a small contact switch behind the main control panel that is telling the machine it is out of balance, more likely the switch and/or contacts have corroded...

Plug off the wall. Open up behind the machine. Check to see if any wires loose. See that the wires from the control panel to the motor are plugged in tight. Vibration from the machine could loosen the wires and give the display wrong readings, or disrupt the run.
